While speaking with the British Independent Film Awards, Taz Skylar opened up about which film helped him grow as an actor. Everyone has that one movie that pushes them past their limits in a positive manner. For the One Piece star, it was Sean Astin’s Rudy that changed everything for him.

He talked about how the film was an impactful masterpiece. Based on the life of Daniel ‘Rudy’ Ruettiger, the film follows a footballer whose only dream was to go play for and study at Notre Dame. The entire film showed his journey and how in only his final year was he actually able to touch the pitch and never before despite how ambitious and determined his dream was.
It took him only ten seconds on the field in the final moments of the match to get his name on the wall. The effort was all worth it in the end no matter how futile it may have seemed at times.

Rudy became an absolute game-changer for Taz Skylar. Every time he looked back at the film that inspired his career as an actor, Sean Astin’s film always came to mind. It became a fact rather than anything else, one that he carried closely to his heart.
