Hideo Kojima, a renowned video game developer, is known for several successful series, including Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid. His creative genius has often been praised for out-of-this-world innovations, and one such instance is tied to one of his famous video game series.
Kojima expressed his creativity in a rather unique way while designing a map for the original MGS from 1998. He used LEGO in an unorthodox way and fans are calling it one of the favorite moments in video game development history.
Hideo Kojima Took Brick By Brick Building Model to Video Gaming
Kojima used LEGO bricks to design the map for the game. A recent tweet surged in popularity as it features a clip from a documentary that shows his unconventional level design technique for the original Metal Gear title.
In the clip, it is shown how he used bricks to create a three-dimensional representation of Shadow Moses Island. This wasn’t just child’s play, though. he used this physical model to not only visualize the layout of the island but also to plan camera positions and enemy placements.
Fans are reveling in this discovery as the legacy of the franchise receives yet another boost and it just cements its place as one of the best stealth games ever, despite its release decades ago.
Fans Want a Metal Gear Remake
The latest game in the franchise came out in 2015. While there is a Snake Eater remake in the pipeline, fans want more as the legendary game developer doesn’t have much influence on its development.
Fans of his work have once again united to praise the ingenuity of the legendary video game developer. One particular fan has said that this is one of his favorite moments when it comes to what happens behind the scenes in game development.

Another fan added to the sentiment saying that she has been a fan of the series for years and that the man behind this franchise has had a heavy influence on her.
God that’s insanely clever. I do think there is a bit of over reliance on digital tools these days. Sometimes you just really get a better feel(figuratively and literally) for something when you can touch it.
