Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 is one of the most anticipated titles coming out this year and is only months away from launch. The developer, Saber Interactive wants to give players a unique experience with the title.
As players wait for the game, a dev build was leaked. The developer expected that this could ruin the surprise around the game but the Space Marine 2 leaked build has had the opposite effect and more fans are pre-ordering it.
Leaked Build Was a Good Thing for Space Marine 2
Saber Interactive is hard at work preparing for the Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 launch and it also cancelled the game’s public beta test last month to focus on it. However, a fully playable pre-release dev build of the game was leaked online.
As per some players who were able to play it, the game was fully playable and 75GB in size and is fully playable and also included server binaries, allowing people to play with friends. However, they were also some things missing.
Following the leak, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Interactive released a statement saying that the build is nearly a year old. It urged players to “avoid this unfinished build” and “not spoil the game for those excited to experience it for the first time at launch.”

While the developers’ concern is valid as the secrets of the game would be revealed with the leak, leading to many gamers never buying the game which is bad for the game and the team. But the opposite has happened as many are now excited about it more than ever and are pre-ordering the title.
Players Are Now Much Sure About the Game
Several players have said that the leaked build has been proving to be a good thing as they were first skeptical about the game but have pre-ordered the game after playing the intro sequence. This is good as Space Marine 2 preorder numbers will only increase.
Those who have not pre-ordered the game are planning to get it. One player said that they saw some videos of the dev build and will buy the game on day one.

The developers were worried about the game’s hype but the leaked build has only increased it. It is possible that some secrets about the game may have been revealed and spoiled the fun for a few players but the majority fans are only more excited about the game.
Saber is currently working on optimization and polishing the game ahead of the September release. The game will launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 9, 2023.
