One of the most viable reasons for Valorant‘s huge success over the years is its expansive agent roster. Right now, the game boasts 24 agents, each with their own unique abilities. These agents are scattered across four different categories.

Now, debates are all around the community over which agent is the best. However, there’s no specific answer to that question, as any agent can be OP if used correctly. But there are agents whom people like but don’t enjoy playing in a match.

Recently, a dedicated Valorant fan shared their thoughts on Iso. This fan loves his lore and character. He also thinks this agent is “basically the John Wick” of the game. However, despite high praise for the agent, the OP doesn’t seem to be a fan of picking this agent in matches. They have some specific reasons for that as well.

Duelists are responsible for getting some early frags and giving the team swift entry to the plant site. According to them, despite being a Duelist, it’s pretty hard to take an entry, as this Chinese contract killer doesn’t have any flash or special movement skills like the other duelists in the game. For example, Phoenix and Neon have their own flashes, whereas Jett and Raze have super-fast movement abilities, which make it easy for them to take entry at the sites.

The fan has also stated that if anyone doesn’t have a crisp aim, then this agent is of no use. This Chinese Duelist’s most OP ability is his shield. Now, if you don’t have a fine aim to pick the orbs, then the shield is also useless. That’s why the fan thinks this agent is pretty tough to play.

Actually, Iso has always been a controversial agent in the game. Since his release in October 2023 in Episode 7 Act 3, fans have had different opinions about this agent. After his release, fans hardly used to pick him, as this agent never had the flamboyance of the other duelists of the game, for example, Jett’s Dash, Neon’s Slide, or Raze’s Satchel.

Then came the legendary buff in Patch 8.11, which made his shield universal. That means he then didn’t have to collect an orb from an enemy corpse to deploy the shield; he could do it from the very beginning of a round.

After this, the contract killer became one of the highest-pick agents in the game and was tagged as the “High ELO Terror.” To make things even, Riot then went for a swift nerf in Patch 9.0, where his shield duration was reduced to 12 seconds. Also, his Double Tap ability was made unrechargable.
