While The Boys further boosted his popularity, Jensen Ackles was already pretty famous before it too. Renowned for his iconic performance as Dean Winchester in Supernatural, the 46-year-old heartthrob gets praised wherever he goes. If anything, his true chivalrous streak coupled with his breathtaking looks have transformed him into one of the biggest celebrity crushes in Hollywood.
And yet, Erin Moriarty and some of her other female co-stars from the satirical adult superhero series somehow seem to find him annoying. While the words “annoying” and “Jensen Ackles” don’t really fit in the same sentence, what’s worth noting is that there’s a massive plot twist here, for the real reason why The Boys‘ girls actually feel this way about him is rather hilariously understandable.
Erin Moriarty and the Other Girls Find Jensen Ackles “Annoying”
Those who have been following him around since he started his acting career back in 1996 must already know that Jensen Ackles is one of the most gentlemanly figures in the entire entertainment industry (even though his character in the smash hit Prime Video series would argue otherwise). Not only does he have the looks, but he has the perfect charms and chivalry to go along as well.
This is why Erin Moriarty‘s recent take on the actor during an interview for the series came as a surprise — not only to fans but to her female co-stars as well. When asked to address the Supernatural alum, the Starlight portrayer said:
Oh, Jensen! Jensen was just like, underwhelmingly, just not… a kind person. And it was such a bummer.
Okay, what?! But before you freak out over her comment the way her female co-stars Karen Fukuhara and Doumit did, here’s the truth: Moriarty was only “being sarcastic.” If anything, her real take on Ackles is nowhere close to him being anything along the lines of a not-so-good person.
This was evident from her continued reaction which basically had her gushing over him, on and on, to the point where she confessed she found this incredibly sweet persona of his to be “annoying.”
As the 30-year-old actress continued to say (via @jensenacklesprime on Instagram):
He’s so kind. Aggressively kind. And I only said that… Like, what the hell? No one has ever been that nice. And he’s so sweet. So… Honestly, that’s how I feel about Jensen! That’s why when we met… Like, he’s underwhelming.
Echoing her thoughts in the background was Claudia Doumit, who went on to admit just how “wonderful” of a person Ackles really is. Continuing, Moriarty landed the final blow, saying:
You can say that about someone that is that overwhelmingly, aggressively kind and good-looking, it’s like, annoying. Like, how?!
Well, that’s understandable, for Ackles really does have “the audacity” to be such an incredibly nice person that even his decades-younger co-stars can’t help but swoon over him. But while Moriarty and Doumit couldn’t stop gushing in praise for him, Fukuhara took her adoration to the next level by claiming she wanted to gift the Soldier Boy actor a “God’s favorite” T-shirt for being so perfect.

During the same interview, watching the three laud so much praise over Ackles, even the interviewer couldn’t help but comment “Like, what’s it like to be God’s favorite?” about Ackles. This particular line caught Fukuhara’s thoughts so perfectly that her excited and grinning from ear-to-ear self immediately went to say about the actor who’s pretty much the epitome of chivalry:
God’s favorite! We need to get him a shirt that sounds like, “God’s favorite.” And it will be perfect.
To say the least, even at the age of 46, Ackles most certainly seems to have people quite literally wrapped around his finger, and all he has to do is be his swoon-worthily nice true self. No wonder Danneel Ackles is one of the most gifted people on this planet!
