Deadpool & Wolverine is days away from release and the anticipation for the MCU blockbuster is at its peak. Additionally, many have pointed out how the cameos and the jokes do not overpower the story and are impressed by the emotional core the film has. Fans will be ecstatic after reading all these glowing first reactions and it feels like the sky is the limit for the film in terms of its box office performance.
Shawn Levy Is Bummed That He Is No Longer Making Deadpool & Wolverine
After working tirelessly for about two years on Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds, and Shawn Levy finally completed the film and have had their world premiere recently. The duo along with Hugh Jackman worked together to create something fresh and delightful for Marvel fans who were in the ‘superhero fatigue’ zone.
In an interview with The Ringer, the director revealed that he is already sad that the movie is no longer theirs and is now in the hands of the audiences. Making the R-rated tonally audacious feature was one of the most all-consuming, obsessive creative endeavors of Levy’s career that he whole-heartedly enjoyed. Making a palpable story involving two Marvel icons was a great gift for the director. Levy said,
The first is that I already feel how sad it’s gonna be to no longer be making this movie. I have loved making this movie. It has owned my frickin’ soul. It has been the most all-consuming, obsessive, creative infatuation of my life. But I have loved it. And it’s a real privilege not only to play in a sandbox with this many toys but to tell a story involving two icons, two iconic movie stars in their most iconic characters together. That is a delight.
Reynolds and Jackman have also echoed the same sentiment in various interviews about the film being one of the greatest working experiences of their career. In addition to having fun making it, the trio’s friendship and brotherhood have only become more stronger.
