However, the Roger Pirates couldn’t wait for twenty years as their captain, Gol D. Roger, was suffering from a disease, and he did not have much time. Thus, he motivated other pirates to go after the One Piece treasure and uncover the truth, but he never revealed what he actually found on the island that could be claimed as the One Piece treasure.
A popular One Piece theory takes all of these events into account and gives a definitive answer to the question, “What is the One Piece?” It also explains why Roger arrived twenty years earlier and Shanks was crying after his crew returned from their final adventure.
The Most Absolute Theory That Answers the Biggest One Piece Question
According to u/Dgemfer on Reddit, the One Piece is actually a diary and a log pose. The diary belongs to Joy Boy and is a summary of all his adventures that also uncover the truth about the Ancient Kingdom and the World Government’s tyranny. This diary helped the Roger Pirates understand what happened 800 years ago that changed the entire course of the One Piece world.
The log pose, on the other hand, establishes the context for another journey, probably to the Ancient Kingdom, but it has not been charged yet. A log position records the magnetic field between the current island and the next island. However, these recordings of the magnetic field can vary according to the distance between the two islands.
Therefore, it is plausible that when the Roger Pirates reached the island, the log pose required another twenty years to record the complete magnetic fields that would take them to the Ancient Kingdom, about which Joy Boy wrote in his diary. It would be the perfect One Piece that would take the Straw Hat Pirates on their “next adventure” to the Ancient Kingdom.

According to the user, the theory makes sense because it not only explains Roger Pirates’ inability to find the Ancient Kingdom but also why Shanks cried when he saw them for the first time after the adventure.
Roger was a hero in the eyes of Shanks, just like Shanks is in the eyes of Luffy. Thus, when he learned that his hero could not fulfill his dream of turning the world upside down by exploring the entire Grand Line, he felt bad for him. He knew that Rogers was suffering from a disease, and he would never be able to go on another adventure.
This also explains why Shanks has been waiting for so long and only recently made the declaration of claiming the One Piece. Now that the log pose is ready, Shanks will once again go after the One Piece and fulfill his captain’s dream by any means possible.
