Santa Monica Studio has spent the last few years of the past decade working on the franchise and the sacrifice was worth it. The ending of Ragnarok hinted at the possibility of the characters leaving the Nine Realms, some fans are suggesting that this is the best path forward for the God of War who is now out of retirement to retake his office to lead a new era of peace and provide aid to those who seek it.

The actions of the Ghost of Sparta left Greece in ruins and his heroic actions during the events of the Norse Saga and Ragnarok ended the long reign of tyranny the Aesir Gods had over the Nine Realms. Venturing out to be a hero for a change is the perfect change of pace.

The Greek Saga ended on a high note that is tough to beat and some fans are still stuck in that era. The developers were dipping their toes into the possibility of a remake since they have already remade older assets from the original trilogy and brought back Helios for the Valhalla DLC. This implies that the past will forever haunt Kratos.

The developers significantly overhauled aspects of the original trilogy like the combat and camera setup. The storytelling in the Norse Saga is a massive improvement from the original trilogy while some fans think it deserves to be retouched to flesh out the lore.

The original trilogy ended with the death of the Gods of Olympus and anyone who resided in Greece and it speaks volumes about Kratos’ character. Not everyone liked how it ended and found it unsatisfying, perhaps a remake with more story context will improve the experience.

The Norse Saga ended with God of War Ragnarok and it is time to either retire the character or continue Kratos’ growth. Perhaps the heroes of the Nine Realms will encounter different pantheons like the Aztec Gods who are as abusive as the Aesir and rescue the people under their care.

The gaming community reflects on the scale of the God of War OG trilogy but it had its issues. Perhaps this suggestion will benefit the franchise and give the fans a new perspective.
