Some team-ups have always been on the highly anticipated charts of superhero fans, with the one coming to life in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. Ahead of the film’s release, Ryan Reynolds has stirred up excitement for another much-anticipated collaboration between Deadpool and Spider-Man.
Portrayed by Tom Holland in the MCU, Spider-Man has been one of the most beloved superheroes of all time. In a recent interview, Reynolds and Jackman revealed their enthusiasm for teaming up with Holland and playfully trolling the young star.
Ryan Reynolds Wants to Team Up With Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
Ryan Reynolds never misses an opportunity to stir up excitement among fans. And the Marvel star did the same in a recent interview for the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine.
In an interview with the K-pop star BamBam for Marvel Thailand, the stars of the highly anticipated film reflected on which MCU hero they’d most like to team up with.
Answering the question, the actor discussed his character’s desire and aspirations to be an Avenger or be a hero like Wolverine. However, the MCU hero he would like to team up with would be none other than Spider-Man.
Part of the storyline for Deadpool is that he wants to matter. He so badly wants to be an Avenger or part of a team… Wolverine is everything I wish I was—he matters, he saves people, he’s done hero stuff. But if I could pick one, I would love… to play with Spider-Man.
His co-star Hugh Jackman also expressed his enthusiasm for working with Spider-Man, saying, “That would be cool.” He also praised Tom Holland, while suggesting the fun dynamics between the characters. “He’s young and we could pile on him and abuse him,” Jackman stated.
However, Reynolds suggested that Holland and his character would quickly bounce back. While this isn’t the first time a team-up between the characters has been discussed, the actor has certainly stirred up the excitement for Spider-Man potentially joining Deadpool’s shenanigans in the future.
Hugh Jackman Expressed Desire to Fight Alongside Hulk
Talking about the one MCU hero they would love to team up with, the Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman also shared that he would love to share the screen with the Hulk.
Hulk and Wolverine are also among some of the highly anticipated on-screen duo, which the fans are expecting to see in the upcoming film. However, Jackman is more interested in having the Hulk as an ally rather than an adversary.
“I also want Hulk,” he said before adding, “I just want him on my side. I don’t want to fight against Hulk.” Jackman has earlier expressed both excitement and apprehension about the potential team-up, admitting he’s unsure how it would work.
He told Screen Rant,
I don’t know how we do it, but because this is where he first appeared, I always thought Hulk, and I’m terrified of how that will feel as the actor, I’d just get flown around.
The highly anticipated showdown between the superheroes is expected to happen in the upcoming film. And Jackman’s hoped-for team-up with the Hulk could likely become a reality in upcoming Avengers movies.
