By the time Hamill reprised his role for The Last Jedi, the actor had significantly aged. As a result, the actor faced an issue while getting to the mountainous locations. The mountains formed the planet Ahch-To, where Luke resides.

They had this big mountain climber guide behind me to catch me in case I stumbled and fell. If I fall off the cliff and die, the insurance would go crazy – let’s face it, I’m an investment.

Hamill made the above statement (via GamesRadar) explaining why the production had to hire a mountain guide.

The actor added that he had an issue while climbing the mountains. Hamill stated that while most of the crew members reached the top in about 45 minutes, it took him almost an hour and a half. He also had to stop every hundred steps to regain his strength.
