Deadpool & Wolverine is mere hours away from release, and anticipation for the flick is at an all time high. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman took over Jimmy Kimmel Live as guest hosts, delivering some gut-busting punchlines.

As the duo took over the late-night talk show, they introduced a segment called ‘Tot Quiz’, where Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds answered questions from kids on the street, given that a slew of them would be unable to see the film due to its R rating.
When one of the kids asked the duo whether they would be able to beat Batman and Robin in a fight, Reynolds started listing the ones they could take easily. However, when the conversation started going towards one particular Batman actor, Jackman was quick to shut Reynolds down, swiftly moving on to the next question.
As soon as Ryan Reynolds mentioned Adam West, Hugh Jackman decided they did not need to go there

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds were pretty confident that they could take on Batman and Robin, especially the 60’s version of the character, as they revealed while hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live. Reynolds then decided to make his case about why he and Jackman would curb-stomp the actors who played Batman and Robin, Burt Ward, and Adam West.
While Reynolds took a shot at Burt Ward’s advanced age, Jackman was quick to shut down Reynolds when he brought up Adam West, moving on from the joke with a quick “Don’t go there.“
To the duo’s credit, the communication between the two was succinct enough that Reynolds quickly switched gears, probably saving the duo an embarrassing on-screen moment that could have derailed the marketing of the film so close to its release. Given that Adam West passed away in 2017, bringing him up in the context of a fight right after he called Ward “too old to fight” might have been in awful taste.
Can Deadpool & Wolverine save the MCU alone?

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to have one of Marvel’s biggest openings yet, right on the heels of the disappointing year that it has had in 2023. Being the only theatrical from Marvel Studios in 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine is being touted as the one film that will save the MCU, and bring the franchise back from the ‘dead’.
However, it must be noted that while the franchise has strayed a little in the wake of Avengers: Endgame, it is not truly dead. However, the fan consensus, especially with the core audience of the franchise, has been that the franchise is failing.
While Deadpool & Wolverine might help restore some faith in the franchise, there needs to be a resurgence in the quality of the content overall at the studio, which means Blade, Captain America: Brave New World, and The Fantastic Four all need to be at the same level of success that is projected for Deadpool & Wolverine.
