Since the official announcement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there have been many criticisms regarding its main characters, especially Yasuke, a well-known samurai of the era.
One of the most recent complaints is that these assassins, especially Yasuke, do not wear hoods, a trait that is supposedly common to all members of this brotherhood. Apparently, some fans discovered that an old game featured a samurai as an assassin, who also lacked the iconic hood. A significant portion of this community is growing weary of the inane complaints surrounding the release of this new Ubisoft game.
Another Advisory Complaint Has Been Added to the Assassin’s Creed Shadows List
It appears that controversy will continue to follow Assassin’s Creed Shadows because several fans have issues with the protagonist choice, especially Yasuke. Initially, this upset a portion of the community.
Fortunately, most fans are very excited about this game because it will finally depict Japan in the franchise’s universe, something they have been asking for years. Now a new complaint has emerged.
Apparently, some players have been complaining that assassins no longer wear hoods, something quite iconic in their outfit. Ubisoft has even come out to clarify a few things that supposedly weren’t historically accurate and were bothering certain fans.
We already had samurais who are Assassins.

This shows how some complaints no longer make sense and are just attention-seeking. On Reddit, a user took the opportunity to clarify the hood issue and put this complaint to rest.
Fans Should Calm down and Just Enjoy the Game
This user seized the chance to introduce another Samurai who had previously featured in the franchise, specifically in the mobile game Assassin’s Creed Memories.
One of the characteristics of this particular assassin, apart from being a Samurai, was that he did not wear a hood, proving it is not necessary to be part of this creed. Some people should stop looking for excuses to complain about anything and just try to enjoy it.
These complaints reached a point where even part of the Japanese government spoke out to end them. They stated that the studio could do whatever it wanted with the game because it is a work of fiction, and even though it is based on reality, it does not have to be so precise.
Therefore, even the country of origin does not care about historical accuracy, making the complaints unfounded.
AC Shadows will arrive in November for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The title will feature two protagonists in addition to the Samurai Yasuke; the shinobi Naoe will accompany him, and they will team up in the name of this well-known creed.
In this second game in the series, players will choose between two protagonists with conflicting combat styles. Everything suggests that it’s a great game.
