Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto has been one of the most influential manga and anime series since 1999. With a gripping plot and well-written characters, the Shonen series has established itself as a household name. Kishimoto-San’s magnum opus has been part of The Big Three, which also featured the two big titles of its generation.

However, fans of the Ninjutsu series have often engaged in heated debates on how having a Ninja Way is better than having grand adventures on Grand Line. Over time, fans have acknowledged how Oda-Sensei’s work is something that can never be rivaled and is probably the greatest Shonen series ever created.
With 1112 episodes, the anime is still going strong and has kept its fans hooked, as it tops the list featuring the series with the highest. However, it looks like some people are not happy with the result, as they’re accusing them of review-bombing.
Masashi Kishimoto Will Be Ashamed of Fans Accusing One Piece Of Review-Bombing Its Competitors
Sitting comfortably with an IMDb rating of 9/10, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirate Crew going on their adventures and finding the most alluring treasure of all! The show has kept the momentum rolling from the Wano Country Arc, and now they are in one of the final chapters of the arc, which is the Egghead Island Arc.

The latest episode has a near-perfect rating of 9.7/10 on IMDb, where Shanks obliterated Eustass Kid and his crew with Divine Departure. Recently, IMDb’s official X account shared a post featuring the Top 10 premieres of 2024 so far. Without anyone’s surprise, the Shonen series took the #1 spot.

Following the news, some ‘brain dead’ Naruto fans started to attack the show on social media, accusing it of successfully review-bombing the other entries on the list.

All that review-bombing and downvoting other shows have really paid off https://t.co/pSkufisjSe

This is why whenever I see one piece at a top spot on this list I never take it serious 😭😭

However, some fans pointed out how Oda-Sensei’s work gets criticized unnecessarily by some Naruto fans as they get jealous of the show’s success.
this further reincorporates my theory that 90% of Naruto fans are brain dead https://t.co/TCz706orCp

As a One Piece fan I have to say that you are doing well to create some kind of controversy. A lot of people enjoyed the last episode of demon Slayer, including me and if you look at it, One piece episodes have got more down votes. https://t.co/IVShUZDiHx

Though fans often engage in friendly banter, this is highly unacceptable because, due to such fans in the community, the entire fandom gets called out.
Moreover, both mangakas regard each other’s work as phenomenal, and calling one of the greatest shows to review-bomb other masterpieces is not appropriate at all.
Why Do Naruto and One Piece Fans Hate Each Other?
If you have been an anime fan since the late 90s, then you have been a part of one of the greatest periods of all time, which featured the three greatest shows of that period: Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto. Though fans of Tite Kubo’s work have never been toxic, there has been a period where fans have felt that their favorite anime series is better, and they would do everything in their power to showcase their show as superior to the others.

As a result, in r/OnePiece, a fan dropped a post asking why fans from both communities hate each other while sharing their opinion that they liked Masashi Kishimoto work but would not belittle the other show, citing the fact that it’s “really good.” The fans gathered at the post, dropping their opinions in the comment section of the post.

Nevertheless, fans should not hate the other show as both are masterpieces in their respective areas, and it can’t be denied that both series have immensely worked to make a popular form of entertainment that is not merely limited to Japan.
Naruto and One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
