However, fans of the cinematic universes often disagree on things and how or which franchise is better. With the DCU vs MCU competition going on for years, MCU president Kevin Feige had a hilarious answer.

Kevin Feige Does Not Work In The DCU!

The DCU and the MCU are two very different cinematic universes with some similarities. Bearing superheroes, villains, and side characters, the comic books have been inspired by each other and it shows.

However, fans of the DCU (formerly DCEU) and the MCU have been at war for several years. With claims that the MCU or the DCU is better, people have often argued about the two cinematic universes.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Kevin Feige was asked about the competition with James Gunn’s DCU and whether he had been following any of Gunn’s movies in that cinematic universe. Here’s what Feige had for a reply.

And then when it comes to the ‘distinguished competition’ as they say, a lot of people don’t know the difference. Somebody just said ‘Congrats on Blue Beetle’ to me. I don’t know! People don’t know.

Fans had some hilarious reactions to this statement.

Blue Beetle was a 2023 film released by the DCU under the reign of co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, and the film received mixed reviews around the world.

Although there are similarities between the MCU and the DCU (and an ongoing war in the background), Kevin Feige is still amused by the idea of a potential Marvel x DC crossover event!

Kevin Feige Would Love a Marvel x DC Crossover Event!

Feige is a man of experimentation. Loving ideas that are unique and vivid, Feige loves to tinker with various cinematic universes and put characters in different situations to see how they would play out.

In an interview with Collider, the Marvel president was reportedly asked whether there will be a Marvel x DC crossover or not. His answer was both shocking and quite awesome to hear.

I mean, I think about it occasionally, like any fan would think about it. I don’t know when in the heck that would ever happen, or how that would happen.

He further continued,

But we’ve been talking too long for me to go, ‘Never! We’d never be able to do that.’ We’ll never say never, but no, no plans.

So things are looking upwards for a potential Marvel x DC crossover in the future (whenever that happens). However, fans are pretty convinced that Kevin Feige and James Gunn would make a great team.
