One thing that Levy and the two lead stars of the movie – Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman – is that they do not spill any beans, anywhere, whatsoever. Unlike some MCU stars, [Like Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland], the Deadpool 3 team has been very tight-lipped about what the movie will be all about. There have been “leaks” and whole 30-minute preview parties, but the fabs only know what the team wanted us to know and nothing more.

Shawn Levy Is Grateful to Stranger Things For Putting The “fear of God” In Him

Before joining the Marvel Studios to direct Deadpool 3, who are extremely cautious about having any information out in the world before the project is released, Shawn Levy had worked on the Netflix YA sci-fi drama, Stranger Things. Similar to the MCU, the team at Netflix is also very tight-lipped about their projects and rarely lets any information slip them by before time. According to Levy, that experience came in handy when he joined Marvel. Speaking to The Ringer, he said:

I am so grateful for my years on Stranger Things because it has really trained me to keep my mouth shut. I have a huge mouth, and Stranger Things has put such a fear of God in my body that keeps my mouth shut most of the time. And I’m very grateful for that because I definitely have needed that skill for a Marvel movie.

Having already gone through a similar phase while being a part of Stranger Things, it wasn’t as difficult for Shawn Levy to keep his mouth shut and not give away spoilers from the upcoming movie. Which is more than we can say about some MCU veterans.

Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland: The Spoiler Kings of Marvel

The cast and crew these days are more or less threatened, with lawsuits and fines, so that nothing the studio doesn’t want, comes out in public before time. Marvel Studios have been very prone to leaks and hacks, with the whole script of Ant-Man 3 having been leaked before the release of the movie. Even with Deadpool & Wolverine, a lot of the supposed cameos have been leaked, although we will only be sure of that once we watch the movie.

But who needs hackers and scoopers when you have Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland working in your midst? The two actors are infamous for spilling secrets. Holland inevitably slips up and lets people know what went down during press tours before the movie’s release. And who can forget Ruffalo live streaming his movie to the whole world during the world premiere of Thor: Ragnarok in LA (via THR).

In comparison, while there may have been a few other clicks and leaks all around the MCU, nothing could beat these two gentlemen. Shawn Levy and co. are pretty safe. Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine is gearing up for a worldwide release on July 26, 2024.
