On Reddit, one legacy 7 Days to Die player shared a post, saying goodbye to their old world before moving on to the new one. They kept it for a whole 202 days, which is pretty impressive as people usually stop way earlier and move on to a new save.

In the comments, people were mostly supportive of OP’s move. One, however, warned them about the new weapon system. Goodbye to three-digit weapon levels and hello to weapons that max out at level six.

The legacy console version of the game is so incredibly behind, someone with 500 hours in the Steam version had no idea about the previous crafting system.

In the old system, you could level your weapons and tools by gathering materials throughout the day and spam crafting through the first few nights.

Players would craft hundreds of stone axes, combining them on the workbench to level them up. You could level items from 0 to 600 and breeze through the rest of the game, mostly.

The new system changed everything. Instead of combining weapons to level them, you have to find magazines while looting, which unlock the ability to craft better items.

Instead of a cap of 600, items now range from levels 1 to 6, but crafting is capped at level 5. You must loot level 6 items.

The new weapon crafting system has not been well-received, as it relies more on luck in looting the right magazines. Rather than engaging, some might feel frustrated.

Getting skill points in 7 Days to Die used to be exciting because they unlocked recipes, and you got direct access to new crafting abilities.

Now, skill points are something you dump into a certain aspect and pray that the RNG Gods give you the right magazine as you loot.

This isn’t the only issue with the new crafting system. By the time you can start crafting level 5 items, you’ve probably already looted level 6 items. It makes the entire process completely redundant for the most part.

While the PC community has reacted one way, it’ll be interesting to see if console players agree or disagree with the sentiment.
