God of War has been around for the past two decades and the gaming community has an epic journey through different pantheons. The Ghost of Sparta ended the original trilogy that focused on Greek mythologies with blood and spared the Nine Realms with acts of heroism during Ragnarok.
The developers claim that Ragnarok was the conclusion about the story of the Nine Realms but some fans think that there are still more stories worth telling and story beats to revisit. Odin and his reign of tyranny may be over, however, there are still a few loose ends that need closure.
The Gaming Community Is Not Ready to Move on From the Nine Realms After God of War Ragnarok
Santa Monica Studio spent the last few years exclusively working on this franchise and the hard work paid off. Some fans believe the developers could remake the original God of War trilogy and flesh out the lore to bridge the gaps between games for a better transition from the Greek Pantheon to the next.
The Nine Realms are now free from the clutches of Odin and the Aesir Gods and peace is now an option, however, there is still potential to prolong the focus on the Norse Saga by exploring certain background stories through expansions or perhaps a spinoff title with Atreus before his travels beyond the Nine Realms in search of the Giants.
Maybe the next GoW will still be around the Norse storyline

The sequel explored the meeting between Kratos and Faye but never got into detail or in-depth, especially with her passing. Perhaps the developers could explore the favors or side quests in Ragnarok and flesh out the lore even deeper like a brief origin story of Thor’s theatrics and dramatic flair in a fight.
The Dwarven rebellion was briefly mentioned in the sequel and players were introduced to Durlin, a dwarf who fought against the Aesir occupation of Nidavellir in the early days. Perhaps there is something worth returning to for Santa Monica Studio to tackle and give the gaming community more content.
There Are More Stories Worth Telling in the Norse Saga of the God of War Franchise
The sequel may have been a satisfying conclusion to the Norse Saga, however, the game opened more questions than it offered answers. It would be a shame to let these stories be untold and for the gaming community to experience them.
The Valhalla DLC is the first step in Kratos’ story of redemption and going from a monster to a god. The Greek Saga shaped his journey as a killer of both mortals and gods and it wouldn’t make sense to see him fall back to his old ways after what he and his son have gone through.
The gaming community will take any content they can get as long as it is a story they love. Perhaps the developers should consider reflecting on omitted storylines and figure out a solution to let them see the light of day.
Santa Monica Studio did a fantastic job with the franchise and could do better. Fans loved the latest saga and maybe two games is not enough.
