When Hugh Jackman came on our screens for the first time as Logan/Wolverine, everyone was in awe of how good he looked as a character. His physique and the way he said ‘bub’ will forever be etched in our minds as a perfect representation of a book-to-movie character. But to achieve that bit of perfection, the actor had to follow a strict diet and workout regimen every time he wore that superhero suit.
Anyone who saw how ripped he became for the character for each outing was in awe of him. Whether it was the first time he debuted with the character in X-Men (2000) or his latest stint with Deadpool & Wolverine, which was released today, every time his claws came out, it was alongside his near-perfect physique, that not just fans, but even other actors from the fraternity were in awe of.
Michael B. Jordan Was In Awe of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Michael B. Jordan is yet another actor whose something fans have always admired and appreciated. The actor has also been part of both the Fox-verse as well as the MCU and has shown the audience his near-perfect physique both times. So when an actor like him says he was in awe of another, it is something to take note of.
During an episode of The Graham Norton Show, both Hugh Jackman and Michael B. Jordan were on the sofa next to one another, when the latter couldn’t help but gush about the Wolverine star.
When we saw this, every actor wanted to mimic what he did. And listening to his diet and his workout regiment that… This is the blue[print].
Hugh Jackman though, quickly quipped that it was all CGI, to which the Fantastic Four star shook his head laughing. But we can all agree with Jordan here; that what the X-Men star did with his body, and the way he transformed it for the character is something rare, and he should definitely be proud of what he achieved.
Even Ryan Reynolds Himself Was Astonished At What Hugh Jackman Did For Deadpool & Wolverine
Both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman had to get in shape for their roles in Deadpool & Wolverine, which is currently smashing the box office. During a chat with PEOPLE, where both actors were interviewing each other, Ryan Reynolds could not help but admire his co-star, who was even at his age, the perfect example of what a superhero should look like.
I couldn’t believe what I saw with what you did physically for this movie. Not just the aesthetic transformation that’s amazing that’s incredible that anyone could do that but just the sheer relentlessness that you dedicated yourself towards stunts, choreography.
He further added:
It was the first time I’d ever seen how invaluable and I hope any young actors are listening to this how invaluable a background in song and dance is when you were doing an action movie. You hit your marks in those fight scenes with speed and confidence the likes of which I have never seen. I don’t care if you were 25, 35, 45, I could not believe what I saw.
Hugh Jackman, being his humble self, gave credit to his team, and also talked about how he enjoyed the process of getting in shape. While many might not be too happy with such rigorous workouts, and strict diets, he knows what is necessary to get the job done, and he did it perfectly. Deadpool & Wolverine is currently running in theaters worldwide.
