Antony Starr’s Homelander is certainly one of the most complicated characters to come out of television in years. His moral flexibilities and deep-rooted issues have turned him into one of the best weapons possible and given Vought the slowly approaching destruction of their own making. Starr does an excellent job at morphing into the character, giving a performance that should be award-winning for him.
With the release of the fourth season of The Boys, fans have become especially aware of how similar the actor is to his character. While the truth could not be further from it, he does like to lean into the bit now and then.
There was one specific instance recently, where he may have committed a little too much to the act of it.
Antony Starr Is No Different Than Homelander?
If there was a competition for the characters with the worst mommy issues, there is no denying that Homelander would wipe the floor with everyone present. The character’s obsession with maternal figures, specifically milk has taken on an extremely creepy theme, and fans have loved every second of it.
Occasionally, Antony Starr likes to play into the bit and pretend to be similar to Homelander just for the sake of it. However, sometimes even the actor commits a little too hard. During a recent appearance with the cast of The Boys at the SDCC panel, (via Culture Crave), the actors noticed that there was a baby in the audience.
Many actors would have gone for a funny approach, making fun of the parents for bringing a child to a panel for a very graphic and adult show. However, Starr is very different.
Antony Starr Impresses Fans Again
Antony Starr brought all attention to the child and asked one simple question; if its cries meant that there was a mother also present in the audience. While this one series of words can be interpreted in many different ways, fans of the series knew exactly what he meant when he said them.
Does that also mean there’s a mother here?
It is safe to say that Starr’s response to this was extremely creepy and far too similar to how Homelander would have felt at that moment. Upon hearing about the comment, fans quickly commented on the interaction. Since Starr’s character loves to drink milk, rooted in his maternal issues, many pointed out the similarities.

Other fans pointed out that, although he has been reluctant in the past, Starr is clearly enjoying himself during the press tour for the new season of the series. Additionally, his commitment to the character and the bit of his obsession with milk is truly commendable, being iconic in every way.
