Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool vs Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is something fans expect to see only in the new Marvel film in theaters, Deadpool & Wolverine. However, the two actors competed against each other to find the real-life superhero among them in a recent promotional event. The result was a fun-filled ten minutes that saw both actors proving why they were the best together.
Reynolds was no match to Jackman when it came to a ‘kindness’ test between the two. Jackman brought out his best skills to tear up while sharing kind words about his co-star. Reynolds called cheating but he knew that he lost the game then and there.
Hugh Jackman Breaks Down Into Tears To Win A Superhero Showdown Against Ryan Reynolds
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds put a lot of effort into promoting their film, Deadpool & Wolverine. The two stars are basically everywhere on the internet. During their promotional interview with Capital FM, Reynolds and Jackman went against each other in a friendly competition to determine the real-life superhero.
When it came to a ‘kindness’ test, both actors began to shower praise words on each other. Jackman started the test by saying that Ryan Reynolds was extraordinary in the way he saw the Logan actor in his fullness. Reynolds responded that he had never worked with someone who had the level of integrity, work ethic, and genuineness like Jackman.
Reynolds further shared that The Wolverine actor had set a high bar for those around him to operate at a higher level. He added that the sets of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Deadpool & Wolverine were the safest places on the planet because Jackman made them so. Jackman was not ready to give up on the competition and resorted to what he did best.
Jackman responded with his voice breaking and tears in his eyes, “It’s just the way you inspire me as a man… the way you want me to…”. He struggled to complete his sentence, but said, “You make me a better man”. Reynolds was stunned and told the host that it wasn’t fair. The host admitted, “He’s almost making me cry. What do I do?”
There was no coming back for Reynolds from that Hugh Jackman act. He asked whether anyone could put hot sauce in his eyes or punch him in the groin to make him cry like that. When the host called it an acting masterclass, Jackman joked, “What are you talking about acting?”. They continued sharing kind words, as the host quietly exited the interview.
Hugh Jackman Won The Friendly Game Of Real-Life Superhero
Out of the five tests, Hugh Jackman won three of them making him the winner in the real-life superhero test. Ryan Reynolds won in the strength test by beating Jackman in a thumb war and the mind test by surprisingly solving a math question.
The Greatest Showman actor won in the flexibility test where he named his yoga pose (lying with his stomach on the floor) “Ryan doing his own stunts”. He won the persuasion test when he pitched his mug with a ‘Wolverine’ threat to his audience. He had to be declared the winner in the kindness test as well.
Deadpool & Wolverine is now running successfully in theaters.
