The Boys Season 4 introduced two new characters into The Seven – Sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward, and Firecracker, played by Valorie Curry. Curry’s Firecracker aka Misty is a right-wing YouTuber and political activist in The Boys universe, who’s a leading figure in the ‘Alt-supe’ movement. It was as if the character was designed to make fans despise her in every way possible.
Curry appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con and shared that the character was a parody of many such controversial characters and that she had to ground her character for the satire to stand out. She shared an interesting take on her character’s future and many fans agree with her.
Valorie Curry Hopes That Her ‘The Boys’ Character Gets Killed And Fans Agree With Her
Like fans, Valorie Curry also hated her character Firecracker in The Boys. Fans have seen the character propagating absurd conspiracy theories and harboring a hatred for Starlight. Firecracker simply isn’t the most powerful among The Seven, but she was brought into it by Homelander and Sister Sage for her political standpoint.
Speaking to THR during her appearance at the SDCC, she shared that taking on Firecracker was like showing up at a party when it was raging on. She shared that she appreciated how much the fans understood the satire behind her character and the show.
While playing the character, Curry didn’t look outside or in the news for inspiration, since she wanted to keep the character grounded. When asked about her character’s future, Curry shared that she hoped her character gets what’s coming to her and dies in the final season. Curry shared with THR:
I hope she dies. She has it coming from many people. She’s so awful. She’s horrible.
Fans on X loved her honesty after her comments were shared on the platform. They agreed with her, showing how much they hated the character. Many fans speculated that the character would be killed by Homelander. Some of the fan reactions read:
lol i love her honesty 😂 misty really is the worst

I suspect her character will meet a very bad end. Just wonder if it’ll be from Anne or Homelander.

Curry is the exact opposite of what Misty believes in. The Veronica Mars actress came out as a lesbian in 2019. She has acted in The Following, House of Lies, The Tick, and The Lost Symbol. She also had a role in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Valorie Curry’s Firecracker Is Not A Comic Book Character
Fans would be surprised to learn that Misty/Firecracker doesn’t appear in Garth Ennis’ The Boys comics. The characters, Firecracker and Sister Sage, were created solely for the TV show. While Curry did not look for any inspiration for the character, it appears that showrunner Eric Kripke was influenced by certain people for the character.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke shared that the character was influenced by Alt-right figures in the US. He shared that she also represented the supreme right-wing news media in the country. Kripke shared with EW:
It turns out, there’s always crazier. Firecracker represents both members of the conspiracy-minded movements and the super extreme right-wing news media. That character has some surprising backstory that connects her to some of the characters in our world that it was just interesting to bring in one of those pistol-packing ‘I shot my puppies’ type of characters.
As the fourth season wrapped up, Valorie Curry’s character started to feel the side effects of her lactation medication. She, Black Noir II, and The Deep are on a mission under Homelander’s orders to eliminate anyone with dirt on The Seven. However, her personal issues are gradually becoming a hindrance to this mission.
The Boys Season 4 is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
