For a long time, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball series has been considered to be the greatest anime and manga series and has been majorly responsible for making our childhood memorable. Son-Goku, the protagonist of the Shonen series, is probably the most well-known fictional character before the Internet.

The Saiyan warrior’s fame seems to have no end, as with each passing day, his popularity increases among the otaku community. From being an angry child to becoming one of the strongest beings in Universe 7, Kakarot has come a long way.
Toriyama-Sensei ensured that Goku is an admirable character; his ability to cause collateral damage is second to none. From blowing up King Kai’s planet and killing them in the process to convincing the Omni King to host The Tournament of Power, fans are confident that Kakarot and his friends are responsible for most of Earth’s problems.
Dragon Ball Z Fans Blame Goku and His Friends For Earth’s Problems
The world was not ready for Akira Toriyama’s magnum opus, which featured the story of a young boy called Son-Goku, who has a keen understanding and passion for martial arts. His never-ending hunger to defeat strong people by training hard and breaking past their current limits never ceases to amaze the fans.

Though at first the show was about martial arts, it soon transitioned into battling foreign creatures and monsters hell-bent on revoking Earth’s peace. While Goku and the Z-Fighters saved the day, some DBZ fans are convinced that the root cause of these issues is the protagonist and his troublesome friends.
To back up this claim, a fan of the series posted on r/dbz that the majority of the catastrophic problems were “caused by Goku or the Z Warriors.” To reinforce their theory, the user gave examples from some of the most renowned arcs of the show, which included the Piccolo Daimaou Saga, the Saiyan Saga, the Frieza Saga, and The Android Saga.
They felt the Buu Saga was an exception to this cause and believed the Z Warriors were not responsible because they were out of the “human league,” and considering Earth’s average power level, Majin Buu would “take a long time or would never resurrected.”

Well, even though on the façade, Akira Toriyama’s magnum opus would look like a typical Shonen series that deals with Goku and the Z-Warriors fighting a major threat to save the Earth, in reality, that’s not the case.
The core theme of Toriyama-Sensei’s series is how the show would inspire its audience to not stay still and continue working on themselves. By featuring Kakarot, a Saiyan warrior with an insatiable hunger for transcending past his limits and unlocking an even greater strength that lies within ourselves.
Though it would appear that Goku is responsible for Earth’s destruction, he is used as a metaphor to break free from the limitations that one places on themselves. Hence, this is the reason why, even though the protagonist is responsible for so much damage, he is still so adored by the fans.
Dragon Ball Fans React To The Theory
Dragon Ball fans were divided on the entire theory because they felt that one way or another, Earth would face a ton of sinister names. They explained that one way or another, most of the antagonists would come up and pose a threat to Earth’s peace.

As a result, fans decided to share their mixed opinions on the Reddit post, where some supported the theory while others opposed it.
