Fans have taken to Reddit to voice their complaints about the current condition of the game. Getting matched with highly skilled opponents who make short work of them has been taking the fun out of playing for many.

Fortnite’s matchmaking has been a topic of debate for a long time, which is currently revving up within the community. As we are nearing the end of the Fortnite battle season, things appear to have gotten worse.

Reddit user FiRe_GeNDo shared their discontent with the community, stating that the game’s matchmaking “goes completely out the window” in the last three weeks of the battle season.

They complain about how they keep getting destroyed by highly skilled players in a “gimp suit.” Despite playing unranked, they liken these opponents to players on the highest level of the ranked mode. Due to this imbalance, they can’t “play at all for fun” anymore.

Their comment is met with support, as many others are facing the same issues. User Perfect-Cheetah9435 shares they are either matched with unskilled bots or “a lobby full of sweats,” referring to experienced players who will stop at nothing to get the win.

They are not the only ones who are not enjoying the game. Another user chimes in, stating how they “can’t do anything with out [sic] being killed.”

In another thread on Reddit, other users shared these sentiments. User Nestik sums it up, stating the unranked Fortnite lobbies have been “the sweatiest, most mismatched lobbies [they’ve] seen in any game in the last 30 years.”

Matchmaking is awful this season and needs major rework.

Clearly, the community agrees that the matchmaking has been taking the fun out of the game.

Will Epic Games Address the Problem?

As many players voice their grievances with the game, Epic hasn’t addressed any problems or explained what the issue may boil down to.

Various factors could be playing into a mismatched Fortnite lobby. As the current battle season is nearing its end, the hype around the game has cooled off, and many have already claimed all the items from the Battle Pass they were vying for.

This means fewer players and an overall higher skill level remain, as it’s mostly the dedicated fans who stick around to keep accumulating Victory Royales.

It is unclear if the algorithms will be adjusted to address these issues. The start of Season 4 will most likely bring in more players, which could help balance the matchmaking. Furthermore, it has been rumored that Season 6 will see some significant changes, so Epic might address this in the future.

Have you been experiencing balancing issues in the Fortnite lobby? Do you feel like Epic should address this? Tell us about your experience in the comments.
