However, players are not happy with this method as it is very lengthy, and due to server issues, they are not able to even pass the captcha test. This has made players very angry as they have to redo the process multiple times.

Players Want NetEase to Change the Beta Access Method for Marvel Rivals

Ever since the announcement of the Marvel Rivals and a few trailers, players were excited to play the game. Not only does the game offer players to play as their favorite Marvel superhero but also fills the gap for the team-based multiplayer genre left by the unsuccessful release of Overwatch 2.

Players were excited after seeing the gameplay through a closed test server available to only a few content creators and testers. However, after some controversy and apology, NetEase finally announced that it is going to start a closed beta test server where everyone can participate. The test server is going on from July 23 to August 5, 2024.

To get access, players were required to watch Twitch streams (for a specific time) and get the key. The issue with this method arrived when players needed to go to a website to register the key. However, because of many players, the website got overloaded, and even the regular captcha test is impossible for most. Reddit User, Low_Soul_Coal, was one of those unfortunate players, who still can’t play the game because of this.

Other players are also sharing their frustrating experiences.

Some players who were able to get past the captcha also were having issues with the website itself.

Marvel Rivals has been very popular in the community but if these issues persist it is not long before players will pivot to some other popular games. To avoid this, NetEase Games really needs to step up its work and start showing that it cares about the game’s playerbase.

The first step would be to (again) admit the issue and then start sharing the timeline within which these issues will be fixed. Being transparent helps show that the studio is willing to listen to player feedback and also dedicates its time to improving the player’s experience.

In the end, those who are fortunate enough to get the closed beta access for Marvel Rivals, are enjoying the game. Others have to wait and hope that NetEase will fix the issue as quickly as possible.
