Marvel Rivals is one of the most hyped games in the world right now. After a successful alpha test, the game is in a closed beta phase right now. Like any other character-based PvP shooter, this game’s main unique selling point is its huge character roster.

Right now the game features a diverse roster of 21, consisting of our favorite Marvel Super Heroes. All of these characters are scattered across three different classes: Duelists, Vanguards, and Strategists. And there’s a new cute but brutal addition to this lot, along with the Prince of Asgard.

In the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, a couple of exciting trailers were showcased. Along with these trailers, two new characters were revealed. One of those two is Jeff the Land Shark. This extremely adorable Marvel character is a four-legged shark that fans might not know much about.

This creature first made his appearance in the seventh issue of West Coast Avengers vol. 3 by writer Kelly Thompson and artist Daniele Di Nicuolo. While Jeff is yet to get his place on the silver screen, he’s about to make his video game debut in Marvel Rivals.

So, this cute little character is a Strategist with a 2/5 difficulty. Jeff’s normal attacks include Joyful Splash and Aqua Burts. The former unleashes a healing splash, and the latter throws a high-speed water sphere that bursts upon impact, dealing damage to enemies within a certain range.

His four abilities are It’s Jeff, Hide and Seek, Healing Bubble, and Oblivious Cuteness. Speaking of Team-Up abilities, Jeff can pair up with Luna Snow and Namor in Frozen Spitball and with Rocket Raccoon and Groot in New Friends.

The God of Thunder Steps in the Field Too

Along with Jeff, the God of Thunder and Prince of Asgard, Thor Odinson joins the party. He comes on the roster as a Vanguard with a difficulty of 2/5. This character has the normal attack named Mjolnir Bash, in which he wields his favorite hammer to strike enemies. He can also use heavy lighting arc waves to deal damage as well.

In the game, Thor has a total of six abilities: God of Thunder, Storm Sugrge, Lighting Realm, Awakening Rune, Hammer Throw, and Thorforce. Each of these abilities has a unique strength and mechanism.

For example, with the God of Thunder ability, Thor soars upwards and smites the ground after charging for a certain duration. This blows heavy damage on enemies who are in its range.

In the movies, Hella and Thor might be one of the fiercest enemy duos. But in this game, Hella can resurrect Thor through the Odinson Reborn Team-Up ability if she deals the final blow in defeating an enemy. These features just go to show the success NetEase has had in developing Thor for the game.

What’s your opinion on the inclusion of this little shark and Thor in Marvel Rivals? Will you be playing as either of these characters? Let us know in the comment section below.
