Even after 25 years, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece stands tall as one of the most beautifully crafted stories that would leave its fans speechless. Though the Shonen Series focuses primarily on Monkey D. Luffy and his goal of becoming the King of the Pirates, the side characters of the show add to the plot of the series.
One of the most significant side characters of the show is Roronoa Zoro, who happens to be the most loyal crewmate of Straw Hat Pirates. Since the start of the story, the swordsman has been preparing himself to make himself worthy of being the swordsman of the Future Pirate King.
However, Dracule Mihawk stands between him and his coveted dream. Fans have been eagerly waiting for a rematch between the two, but it looks like fans have to wait for quite some time because Zoro has to achieve a monumental feat that Mihawk’s rival Red-Haired Shanks has achieved.
Eiichiro Oda Delays Zoro’s Rematch With Mihawk Until He Achieves One Massive Feat
After Monkey D. Luffy, the most prominent character that fans look up to is Roronoa Zoro. Considered to be the #2 in Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus, he is frequently involved in some of the most stellar fights in the series.
With each fight, he pushes himself to the limit, ensuring that he grows closer to becoming The World’s Strongest Swordsman by defeating a member of the Red Cross guild. After the time skip, it was believed by fans that the Pirate Hunter was closer than ever to beating his opponent to become the World’s Strongest Swordsman.
However, it turns out that Zoro has yet to achieve a colossal feat. The Shonen series is in one of its final sagas, and despite the fact that the swordsman has defeated many notable names in the Grand Line, he has never managed to split the skies.
Hence, Zoro fans have to wait because if Oda-Sensei showcases their much-awaited rematch without a proper buildup, it would ruin years of work.
However, with the current scenario, it will be best if The Pirate Hunter faces off against Nusjuro, one of the Five Elders, and achieves this colossal achievement.
Fans React To Eiichiro Oda Waiting For The Right Moment For Zoro vs. Mihawk Rematch
A fan (@MiddleWay23) shared their opinion on social media and shared that the Moss Head must split the skies when he faces Nusjuro soon. The sole reason behind this narrative is to reinforce the notion that Zoro is finally at the level of Mihawk and Shanks, the Captain of the Red-Haired Pirates, and what better way than to do it against a top-tier swordsman?
Hence, fans decided to come together and share their opinions in the comment section of the tweet.
Not sure that Zoro is on that level yet. We've always seen Yonko level and above people split the skies ( Shanks and WB, Kaido and Big Mom, Roger and WB, and Luffy v Kaido). I mean Yamato I'd say has better control of Advanced Conquerors due to experience yet didn't split a sky.

This might also be Luffy splitting the sky with an elder (my bet). Or Redon being a troll with misleading GIFs lol

Trying to put the plot together from just a few hints is fun, don't get me wrong, but the gifs should all be taken skeptically until the brief summary is out imo
Ehh at the same time, his first sky split being against Mihawk also makes sense

Even though it is uncertain when Oda-Sensei will showcase this iconic moment that will bring Roronoa Zoro a step closer to achieving his goal, that would help him to honor the memory of his childhood friend, who has pushed him to become the man he is today.
One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
