Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree often builds on the base game’s challenging playstyle, and throws players against some of the most brutal boss fights designed by FromSoftware.
However, a popular content creator may have a surprising opinion about which bosses rank the toughest on the list, but there’s enough justification for fans to think deeply about this one.
Elden Ring’s DLC Has Bosses That’ll Make You Rage Quit
For a long time, Ziostorm has been a popular content creator for Elden Ring and often shares interesting insights into the game’s lore and general information.
Recently, the creator shared a ranking of how difficult the bosses in the DLC are. According to the list, Rellana, Twin Moon Knight ranks higher than Radahn, surprising many fans.
After beating Elden Ring DLC multiple times, here's how I'm personally ranking the main boss difficulties:

Divine Beast – Moderate
Rellana – Hard
Messmer – Moderate
Midra – Easy
Metyr – Easy
Romina – Easy

In my review of the game, I spoke about the different ways Shadow of the Erdtree challenged my skillset, and Rellana was certainly a part of that experience.
Her unpredictable movesets often remind you of Malenia from the base game, but that’s just the beginning of an arduous playthrough as you figure out her attacks.
The creator has also explained how Radahn felt a bit less difficult compared to Rellana because the Radahn’s moves become simpler to understand as a player fights him over and over again.
Unfortunately, that’s simply not the case with a boss like Rellana, as the boss fight happens much earlier in the game and players are often not prepared to face this kind of challenge.
The Game’s Open World Makes Challenges Easier to Navigate
Despite the game’s difficulty, many believe that there are ways of making things easier, and Shadow of the Erdtree is overall more flexible when compared to Elden Ring.
Even though many players falsely assumed (before launch) that the DLC will be much smaller in size, FromSoftware took everyone by surprise when fans started to truly dive into the game’s length and depth.
Being stuck on a boss fight is seldom a problem, as players have the chance to simply roam around and find other quests and secrets to level up and eventually come back to the fight better prepared.
This was true for the base game as well, however, Shadow of the Erdtree seems to have given players a lot more to dive into, and the community is just now starting to realize that every boss fight can be a unique experience based on a player’s distinct playstyle.
