Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine has taken the world by storm. On top of being a masterpiece in every way and being the new standard for a multiverse film, it has also done an excellent job at its marketing. The press tour of the film has been hilariously entertaining, with the entire cast leaning into the absurdity of the film they are starring in.
Many fans have joked that Wolverine and Deadpool have been cosplaying as Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and their interviews only add to this perspective. Interestingly enough, Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, has also leaned into the fun, making digs at her husband and joking very publicly about the dynamic shared between him and Jackman.
A recent story post on Instagram is only adding to the film’s genius marketing, and this time the battle is between Lively and her husband.
Blake Lively Took A Dig At Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively recently made a story post on her Instagram (via Daily Mail) where she made a dig at her husband. The actress made a joke that her “man” was away, and that gave her the opportunity to wear her “other man’s” shirt. In the video, she was zip-lining while wearing a t-shirt of Wolverine, adding spark to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s fake rivalry.
For years now, the two actors have been pretending to hate each other as a joke. They badmouth each other in interviews in the most hilarious of ways, with Reynolds going so far as to make fun of Jackman in both the Deadpool films.
When your man’s away so you have the time of your life wearing your other man’s shirt.
Now, with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, their false hatred has turned into something even more hilarious. Giving many interviews together, they have been roasting and appreciating each other, showcasing the truth of their dynamic.
Ryan Reynolds Was Not Happy
Despite the entire rivalry being evidently fake, both actors continue to lean into it at any given moment. After Blake Lively made the post of joking that both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were her ‘men’, her husband and the father of her children felt the need to make a response post to his own social media.
The Deadpool actor put a story of his own, replying to his wife’s confession. Posting the video on his social media, he stated that he was extremely agree about the t-shirt that she was wearing and the fact that she called Jackman her “other man”.
Howling mad about this.
Even though fans are aware that the entire thing is a bit that has been going on for years, they cannot help but find it to be extremely hilarious.
