With its release in some territories in 2005 and most of the rest in 2006, this console marked a significant milestone for Microsoft because of all the new features it offered. The Xbox 360 was the first major platform to offer a paid online service, allowing all players to play online without issues, something the competition struggled to replicate.

After more than 19 years of being active, Microsoft finally decided to end a crucial chapter for gaming. Once this month ends, the marketplace and the Xbox 360 store, in general, will permanently close.

This is a significant moment for the industry, particularly for this company, as this platform was one of the most prolific in terms of sales. As a result, fans are becoming nostalgic, recalling certain titles.

One of the games that went quite unnoticed during the 360 generation was 1 vs 100. It placed different players in a quiz show against 99 other players. Limited lives and real prizes pushed the game from merely a video game but a real-life opportunity, that pre-dated some of the everyday equivalents we see today, and was great fun as well.

It was a rather original concept because the player would face other Xbox Live service employees. An X account that discusses the history of video games remembered the game, and fans responded with great enthusiasm.

The Xbox 360 platform enabled Microsoft to compete with companies like PlayStation in the console war, thanks to the diverse and high-quality exclusive games it released.

It continues to be the company’s most successful platform to date, introducing several exclusive titles, such as the Gears of War saga. Fans will miss this platform, which took this brand to a whole new level and achieved amazing popularity.

Microsoft confirmed that starting today, no one will be able to purchase any games through the Xbox store, although they will still be playable via backward compatibility.

The company clarified that players will still be able to access their purchased content, and retrocompatible titles will still be available on Game Pass. Xbox One games have not been discussed, but everything suggests it will be a while before they change.

Xbox is adopting a more aggressive strategy to get more people to join the popular Game Pass service.

Because of this, they are launching high-profile games like Call of Duty on the service to see if they can surpass the 30 million users mark that they have been hovering around for some time. Everything indicates that the brand is doing well and that user numbers will change soon.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
