Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Should Remake 1 What If Scenario That Proved the Mode Was More Than a Bit of Fun in Budokai Tenkaichi

What if it was Raditz instead of Goku in that pod?

SUMMARY

  • Raditz is one of the antagonists in Dragon Ball who is the son of Bardock and older Brother of Goku.
  • In an what-if saga featured in Budokai Tenkaichi 2, he is presented as a good man like his brother.
  • Though they know it's very unlikely, fans would like to see a what-if story surrounding him in Sparking Zero.

In an alternate Dragon Ball reality, Raditz became Earth’s defender, not Goku. Maybe he had a decent haircut in it, unlike his Super Saiyan 3-like hair. So many possibilities will emerge when we simply think about any of the sagas that have appeared in the series.

Fans are wanting to see something like that. Actually, they had seen something like that in Budokai Tenkaichi 2. Uncle Raditz was a mean Saiyan but he wasn’t really a bad guy, that’s what Gohan tells him in one of the stories. Maybe there is something in the Bandai Namco game, but we don’t know.

At Least Raditz Got to Spend Some Time With His Family

We don’t mind seeing Raditz become a nice guy and join Z fighters. Maybe he might tap into true potential and become a Super Saiyan rather than a mindless Great Ape destroying everything. Actually, he might be in control of it, like Vegeta.

A conversation on social network Reddit saw some fans discussing the possibility of a what-if story surrounding him.

I’d love it if they remade raditz’s what-if story in the game

There will be a custom mode alongside a story mode in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and fans are so inclined to see a what-if sage that they are looking forward to recreating it themselves.

And it wasn’t just Raditz that ended up being a good guy in one of those what-if stories. Zarbon conquered his evil too. Fans remember that and they loved them both.

We can only speculate about what Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will present us, but hopefully Piccolo won’t need to blow a hole in Goku’s chest using his Special Beam Canon.

In the what-if story featured in Budokai Tenkaichi 2 called ‘Fateful Brothers’, Raditz actually had some quality time with what should have been his family but never got it. Like Goku, he had to go through a memory loss, thanks to Piccolo, who injured him upon confrontation.

However, it wasn’t long until he regained his memories (why, Gohan, why?) and began raining down havoc on Earth as he was supposed to. Although compassion has already taken root, he knows Vegeta and Nappa are arriving but can’t do anything about it.

The rest of the events occur somewhat akin to the original timeline. Piccolo joins forces with Z fighters to stop Goku’s brother. He abducts Gohan but this time there’s a real conversation where Gohan tells him that his uncle’s ‘being mean’ that’s all.

A fight follows where Goku crushes Raditz but thankfully both are alive. In the end, he summons his space pod to leave, which collides in mid-space with Vegeta and Nappa’s. In essence, the Saiyan Saga ended with him.

What do you think will be added to the what-if storylines in Sparking Zero? We would like to know your thoughts in the comments section below.
