At SDCC 2024, she shares insights about how she felt on filming her character’s death, telling ScreenRant, “It was a really relaxing day for me, like, ‘I’m just going to die today, it’s fine, whatever.'”
She continued to delve into the filming process, providing an interesting contrast between the gruesome scene and the lightheartedness of the set atmosphere. She told the outlet,
No, because it was the last day of the set, so I was really just running around giving everyone their wrap gifts and going from department to department, taking photos. So I was having a really fun day.
She added,
And then they called me in, rigged me up, and told me to move around a bunch. Then they laid me in some fake blood and were like, ‘Now just put your eyes in the back of your head, and you’re dead.’
From her statement, it was clear that she was ready to bid farewell to her character, who took it as a joyful experience, despite the gravity of the sequence. Whereas, her death is surely a heart-wrenching scene for many fans, elevating the show to another grittier level.

While filming her final scenes, she just felt “like another day at work,” she only realized about her exit when she went back to her trailer as she added that “there was no next scene” for her. That realization left her feeling, “And it was this beautiful, bittersweet moment.”
Her gruesome death made the show grittier, as Butcher didn’t hesitate to kill her, because he was not convinced that she had truly changed sides. Not to mention, killing Neuman in front of her daughter was enough of a reason to make her scene more heartbreaking.
