Speaking with CBS News Sunday Morning, the actor revealed the huge positive impact that becoming a father had on his acting career. He revealed:
I think I get choked up easier now. Ever since I have had kids, my job has become a lot easier, because I don’t have to try. I don’t have to reach for any emotions, whether it’s joy or whether it’s pain, because it’s all just nearby. Because the stakes are so much higher when you have kids.
The actor revealed that becoming a father has improved his capacity to have multiple emotions right below the surface, which means that at any given point in time, he did not have to reach for any emotion as much as he would normally.
The actor has been part of some of the biggest films in Hollywood, be it Goodwill Hunting with Robin Williams, Ridley Scott’s The Martian, or even franchise genre films like Ocean’s Eleven.

Matt Damon is all set to send his eldest daughter off to college. Talking to E! News, the actor revealed that he reached out to his friends for advice about how to handle the situation. During a press tour for his upcoming Apple TV+ offering, The Instigators, the actor said:
Well, I called my friends and asked them how they dealt with it. What happened to them? It’s like, its a very-its surreal, how time operates in your life.
The actor’s Apple TV+ offering will be a comedy heist film, which will follow two thieves who are on the run after a botched robbery, somehow having their therapist tag along. The film, under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Smith director Doug Liman, will be launched on the service on August 2nd, 2024.
