Elden Ring is a vast game that requires a lot of exploration. While most of this can be done on foot, the Tarnished’s loyal companion Torrent is by their side at all times. Summoning him can make exploration feel much smoother.
However, there was a little hiccup when re-summoning after he fell and met his demise. Luckily, the game’s latest patch has resolved this issue and players can now call for his aid quickly.
Torrent Can Now Be Swiftly Summoned Even After His Death
The latest update in Elden Ring has changed the way players experience the game. A lot of these quality-of-life improvements shift the way weapons and enemies work, and other changes include something as passive yet important as Torrent’s gameplay loop.
User Mahmoud Elhabashy on Twitter has pointed out that the game finally has the option to re-summon the Tarnished’s companion after he dies in the game. Even though this was a feature earlier, there used to be a confirmation prompt that would often feel like a nuisance.

Thanks to the update, this prompt no longer bothers players as it’s a simpler process that brings back the horse with the press of a button. Gone are the days when players would have to cycle through multiple options in hopes of re-summoning the Spectral Speed before it was too late.
Torrent Is Essential in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
From the very beginning, the Spectral Seed has been a worthy companion who makes sure that the Tarnished can get to difficult places with ease. Whether it’s traversing dangerous mountains or carefully moving through a swamp, the horse improves the player’s mobility significantly.
Even after serving such an essential purpose in the game, some players believe that Torrent doesn’t get the attention he truly deserves. FromSoftware could certainly change this by bringing more updates, but right now, having the option to quickly re-summon is something that’s going to make fans quite happy.
Throughout the vastness of the Land of Shadow, the Spectral Seed becomes even more important when compared to the base game. The DLC includes many convoluted areas that feel like little platformers and puzzles that can only be solved when traversing on the horse.
On the surface, this realm may seem a bit smaller compared to the other places in the Lands Between, but that’s just not true. In fact, the Land of Shadow has spaces that go beneath and beyond ground level that might give new players a glimpse into how large this universe can feel.
