Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree has introduced many new incantations and weapons to the game, and players worldwide have been trying out unique builds and playstyles with these.
Even though most of these add a twist to how players would otherwise experience the game, one incantation remains terrible even after the latest patch has tried to improve it.
The Minor Erdtree Is Still a Poor Choice
Added as part of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, this incantation may look like a great choice on paper. What kind of Tarnished doesn’t want the ability to create a tiny Erdtree that grants them healing over time?
Well, as it turns out, its 70 Faith requirement doesn’t justify the amount of healing it provides. Over the course of 0.45 seconds, it provides 18 HP, amounting to a total of 1070 HP.
User Shadow Dragneel on Twitter has voiced a sentiment that’s quite common among Elden Ring fans. Even with the game’s latest patch, it doesn’t seem like things are changing for the better.
Very nice

Investing in an incantation like this simply doesn’t feel worthwhile, and it’s better to rely on building stats like strength and vigor to improve the Tarnished’s defenses.
Moreover, players can choose to completely ignore healing spells and focus on building stronger attack power instead. That’s up to each player’s preferred way of experiencing the game.
Is This a Failed Attempt at Making Elden Ring a Bit Easier?
In retrospect, the game has provided players with many options that help make gameplay feel easier. This includes a variety of Spirit Ashes players can choose from, and weapons and builds that suit one’s unique playstyle.
The Minor Erdtree feels like an incantation that’s a cheap attempt at helping players who want to put all their points in Faith. Given this ridiculously high requirement, the output can only be justified if it heals the player (and allies) quicker and better.
Since that’s not the case (even with the update), there’s truly no point in seeking and using this incantation. Even if you’re a well-versed sorcerer in the Land of Shadow.
Secret incantation of Queen Marika.
Only the kindness of gold, without Order.Creates a small, illusory Erdtree that continuously restores the HP of nearby allies.
Marika bathed the village of her home in gold, knowing full well that there was no one to heal.
Minor Erdtree
It’s unlikely that FromSoftware will make further changes to the stats, and players should look for better alternatives such as Erdtree Heal and Blessing of the Erdtree.
