Given that fans’ favorite is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it could open opportunities to bring back the Old Avengers team, which is yet to be seen after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019).

But bringing the old team back wouldn’t be an easy task, since they all have long moved on after garnering global fame from their MCU roles.

Jeremy Renner, who portrays Clint Barton/ Hawkeye in the franchise, reprised his role in the Disney+ show, Hawkeye, where he passed on his mantle to Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.

Given that every Avenger has moved on in their own ways from the Snap event, it would be difficult for them to return. However, the actor noted that the actors’ scheduling conflicts and individual commitments would be a hindrance in their reunion.

In an interview with US Weekly, he shared,

It seems the Avenger movies have always been really fan favorites and there’s so many wonderful characters in them. I think it’s going to be challenging to get everybody together. I think they’re going to probably have to piece it together like week-by-week, just for people’s schedules.

He further added that the universe has significantly expanded since then, indicating that the franchise now has “a lot of people” with numerous storylines. However, he was as surprised as fans upon finding out about the Oscar-winning actor’s involvement with the character.

Although the Avengers’ reunion remains an interesting topic that audiences and critics alike want to see, Renner also reflected on the Oppenheimer actor’s new job.

While there’s still time to wonder whether the original team would ever reunite in the future, Robert Downey Jr. has already stepped into a new role, after putting an end to his heroic character, Iron Man in the 2019 movie.

At the 2024 SDCC, the Sherlock Holmes actor unmasked himself to star as Victor Von Doom in the MCU. However, this was pretty much a tight secret that Renner was unaware of. In the same interview, he admitted that he was surprised to hear the same online.

He recounted blowing up Downey Jr.’s phone in their original Avengers group chat, with other members including Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, and Mark Ruffalo. He shared,
