However, the game is currently facing critical criticism about the season challenges, these are supposed to be long-term goals that are difficult but the current tasks are too high of a challenge (not in difficulty) for most players to complete.

Seasonal challenges in The First Descendant are supposed to be a way to engage players for a longer time, offering players goals and rewards that would change with each season. This gives players a reason to grind more characters and weapons, overall bringing more diversity to the game.

However, with the player’s grind for other things like characters and weapons somewhat close to ending, many of them are finally noticing the requirements for these challenges, they are excessively steep. These challenges require players to grind extensively for hours, making the game boring as players are killing the same enemy over and over.

Reddit User, crackednutz, recently shared some of the season challenges which require them to kill over 200,000 enemies, which is an absurd amount. After reading the post, many players are also sharing the different challenges and how some of them want Nexon to lower the difficulty.

I am still of the opinion that killing 200,000 enemies is way too high for a season challenge

What Should Be the Nexon’s Path to Improvement?

For The First Descendant to get back the player’s attention and trust, Nexon first needs to admit these issues are there and then give a proper timeline about when the fixes will be implemented.

This proactive approach not only helps in rebalancing the season’s challenges but also helps in diversifying the content, making the gameplay experience more enjoyable. The studio has already started addressing various other issues and the community reaction has been great, maintaining transparency will help players and developers alike.

Recently, having these issues has become a common occurrence but only games that flourish are those that listen to player feedback and commit to providing continuous improvement.

In the end, players have some hope that Nexon will start making these changes as soon as possible. In the meantime, players are busy grinding the modules for various items.
