One Piece is the only one of the Big Three to cross the 1100-episode mark. While Bleach is continuing, it is unlikely that it will reach that level. Due to its lengthy pacing, other anime fandoms have often criticized Eiichiro Oda’s creation. Naruto and Dragon Ball completed their stories in lesser episodes. One Piece’s current episode list is almost their combined number of episodes.

Even after crossing the 1100-episode landmark, Monkey D. Luffy has yet to reach the final destination and claim the ultimate prize. While the rival fans have used it to belittle the fandom, one of the fans justified the lengthiness and why the rival opinions are wrong.

One Piece Is Pretty Short Compare To Naruto And Dragon Ball

Monkey D. Luffy’s journey is believed to be lengthy, and the narrative is pretty slow compared to other popular anime. The rival fans claim that it takes forever to get to the main point of an arc. For years, the One Piece fandom has faced harsh criticism for its length. It was the only area where they lacked any justification.

But recently, a TikTok user, @saigarunner, turned the criticism into Eiichiro Oda’s favor and revealed how One Piece excels in that matter. Naruto has 720 episodes, and the Dragon Ball franchise has 575 episodes. But the timeline that they follow covers multiple years.

Naruto Uzumaki took more than ten years to fulfill his dream of becoming the Hokage. The multiple time skips made it look shorter in length. On the other hand, Dragon Ball has a plot stretching for decades. It began with Goku’s childhood, and currently, he is a granddad.

In Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus, the Straw Hat Pirates have only ventured the seas for three years. Moreover, only one crew reached Laugh Tale, so it was an indefinite journey. Unlike the other two anime, no one knows when the Straw Hat Pirates will end up at their destination.

Comparing the three, One Piece actually going at a fast pace, considering Luffy has found three of the four Road Ponegylphs and defeated multiple Shichibukai, a Yonko, and is battling the Gorosei. The anime and manga have both reached the final saga.

One Piece Is An Epic Saga

One Piece began almost 25 years ago and has reached its peak of popularity. It has gifted the fans with several entertaining moments. Each wave of the sea brings a new adventure filled with every kind of emotion. The anime is supposed to be an epic saga, and Eiichiro Oda did not disappoint. Another significant aspect of the anime is that it leaves no one behind.

Every member has a backstory so that the viewers can connect with them. Often, new watchers refrain from watching One Piece since they believe it to be full of fillers and lack fast pacing. They overlook the attention to detail, art style, character designs, narrative, and lastly, the mysteries.

Eiichiro Oda created a world that will pull everyone towards it. All they need to do is give it a chance. Like the two-year time-skip, Oda sensei could have skipped multiple islands, but it would have left several plot holes. It might not be long before the masterpiece ends. So, without getting overwhelmed by the episode count, it is better to get immersed in an epic saga.

One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll, and the manga is available on Viz Media.
