As Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece has entered its final chapter, the mangaka has been focusing more and more on its two main characters, Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro. However, throughout the series, fans have witnessed individual moments of glory for each character. From Brook and Franky’s heroic actions to Sanji’s perfect entry to save the ones in trouble, everyone had their moment.

However, in the long journey, only one crew member has often been sidelined in several scenarios or has just failed to step up. It’s none other than Nami, the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Though she has showcased unwavering loyalty towards Luffy, she has not proved to be very helpful, when fighting foes. However, it looks like she might be ready for a power-up as Oda-Sensei has foreshadowed it for quite some time in the manga and anime.

Eiichiro Oda Foreshadows Nami’s Biggest Power Up in One Piece

Even though Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is renowned for its characters, none of the other characters are as hated as Nami. However, they don’t hate her like Naruto fans hate Sakura Haruno. It is her weakness that the viewers can’t stand at all, though some are divided over her personality and character sketch.

There’s no denying that she is an exceptional navigator who is worthy of being a part of the Future Pirate King’s Crew, but she rarely plays an important role in the plot of the adventure series. Compared to her crewmates, she feels like a background character in crucial fights.

After the events at Marineford, the Straw Hats took two years to train separately and grow individually. Bartholomew Kuma sent her flying to Weatheria, a small island in the island in sky where scientists study the weather. Fans were excited to see her in action, but her post-time skip character design looks ridiculous, hindering her movement, and even her fighting abilities are lackluster.

However, it looks like everything is going to change because Oda-Sensei might just give the most insane power up to the Cat Burglar, which has been foreshadowed for quite some time in the series.

As fans would remember, Luffy can’t get hurt by mere physical attacks, but if we infuse those attacks with Haki, it would hurt him. Well, Nami has hurt him with her punches when Luffy has done something stupid enough to put the life of the entire crew at risk.

As the series progresses toward its end it is high time that the mangaka wins over the fans, and what better way than to give her the ‘Color of the Supreme King.’

Fans Assume Nami Would Receive The Most Broken Power-Up

Even though, in theory, Nami receiving the Color of the Supreme King sounds ridiculous, Oda-Sensei might have foreshadowed it after the events of the Wano Country Arc, when The Kid Pirates, The Heart Pirates, and The Straw Hat Pirates took the difficult way out of the country.

Nami was fuming and physically abused her captain, locking him in a cage. It was during this scene that Jimbei saw the ‘Color of the Supreme King’ radiating from her. Not exactly, but it was an interesting way of foreshadowing her next development.

As this idea went viral on X, a fan (@troyinthemiddle) was impressed with Oda-Sensei’s foreshadowing, tweeting, “Oda was NOT even joking here.” However, other fans could not stop themselves from sharing their opinions on social media as well.

Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see what plans Oda-Sensei has in store for his magnum opus, but more importantly, what he will do with Nami, as the series sails towards its end.

One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
