The biggest menace in the One Piece world, Marshall D. Teach, popularly known as Blackbeard, has become an even bigger threat ever since he defeated Trafalgar D. Law. After beating Law, he has gotten his hands on the transcripts of two Road Poneglyphs, which makes him the next best contender for the One Piece treasure after Luffy.
He not only has access to two of the strongest Devil Fruit abilities, but if he manages to awaken even one of them, he would be in a totally different league. His awakening would make him the worst villain within the One Piece narrative. While it has not been confirmed, considering his importance as an antagonistic character, there is a big chance that it can happen.
Blackbeard’s awakening would be the biggest threat, and the only person who would be able to counter or even triumph over his Devil Fruit awakening is his former opponent Trafalgar Law. Law has a specific ability that can help him take down Blackbeard once and for all.
Blackbeard’s Awakening is a Strong Possibility
The two Devil Fruits that Blackbeard possesses are the Dark-Dark Fruit and the Quake-Quake Fruit. While both Devil Fruit contain the possibility of awakening, the Dark-Dark Fruit is a logia type, and the One Piece series has yet to see a logia-type Devil Fruit awakening. However, his second Devil Fruit is more likely to get an awakening.
The Quake-Quake Devil Fruit that Blackbeard stole from Whitebeard during the Marineford arc is a paramecia-type Devil Fruit that can cause shockwaves and earthquakes. A paramecia awakening is quite common in One Piece, and if a Devil Fruit as strong as the Quake-Quake Fruit awakens, it could wreak havoc.
Also, he has tried to steal other Devil Fruits like Boa Hancock’s Devil Fruit and Law’s Devil Fruit but has been unsuccessful as of yet. But if he gets his hands on an already awakened Devil Fruit, he might be even stronger and would become the biggest villain the One Piece world has ever seen.
Trafalgar D. Law Might Be Able To Defeat Blackbeard
Law’s last battle with Blackbeard resulted in a crushing defeat where Law not only lost his ship but also most of his crew members. He barely made it alive and even lost his road poneglyph copies. While this defeat might have impacted Law in a big way, he is not one who will back down and let Blackbeard keep the win.
Taking a closer look at Blackbeard’s Devil Fruit abilities, Law has developed an understanding of how his powers work, and he has an ace up his sleeve that could defeat Blackbeard. This ace is called R-Room, and Law used it against Big Mom. This is one of his awakened Devil Fruit abilities, and right now it is the only thing that could beat Blackbeard.
R-Room allows Law to create and throw a room on his opponent and dictate any specific effect to take place within the confines of the room. Thus, if he plays his cards right, he could not only capture Blackbeard but also use R-Room to counter his Devil Fruit awakening (if he gets one) and ultimately defeat the villain. It would also prove to be the perfect revenge arc for Law during the conclusion of One Piece.
