Deadpool & Wolverine may have hit the theatres and finally given all those long-anticipated cameos, reprisals, and debuts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it has also left behind a lot of easter eggs and unanswered questions. And it seems like Ryan Reynolds just isn’t ready to answer them yet, nor is Chris Hemsworth.
This stands especially true in the case of the cameo featuring Hemsworth’s Thor and Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth. In a recent turn of events, the 40-year-old Australian hunk decided to address those questions but refused to reveal the Thor x Deadpool secret. But it was Reynolds who truly stole the show with the best comeback ever.
Ryan Reynolds Responds to Chris Hemsworth Keeping the Thor x Deadpool Secret
In the recently released Marvel masterpiece, there is a scene where the TVA inadvertently shows Ryan Reynolds‘ Wade Wilson a scene from his supposed future as an Avenger. Though rather peculiar, this glimpse showed a teary-eyed Stormbreaker wielder cradling the anti-hero in his lap, who is in a badly wounded condition.
This, obviously, raised a lot of questions. Why was Chris Hemsworth‘s Marvel superhero crying for the Merc with a Mouth? Why was Deadpool’s mask half-torn, his face bloodied like that, and he looked so fatally injured even though he is immortal and can channel his healing factor? But most importantly, could Reynolds’ anti-hero somehow end up dead in the future?
These questions have been bugging all those fans out there ever since the film came out. Additionally, it had even more buzz surrounding it than ever before after Reynolds shared on his X handle @VancityReynolds a close-up image of the Marvel Jesus from that clip with the caption: “I know why Thor was crying. I can’t unknow it.”
Further adding fuel to this fire was Hemsworth himself, who took to his X handle @chrishemsworth to repost Reynolds’ tweet with the caption: “I can keep secrets too [Shushing Face emoji]”. But even then, the Free Guy actor once again stole the limelight with the wittiest and easily the best response to Hemsworth keeping this secret.
Replying to the Odinson’s comment, the 47-year-old actor sarcastically once again tweeted to his X handle:
Hahaha. Australians are actually terrible secret keepers. That’s why we didn’t tell Hugh he was shooting a Wolverine movie til halfway through filming.
Pulling Hugh Jackman under the bus like that now, are we, Ryan?
Well, besides the hilarious dig at Jackman (though what did Jackman think they were filming, Alpha Cop?!), Reynolds’ response is making it sound like either even Hemsworth doesn’t know the truth behind this Thor x Merc with a Mouth secret, or he needs to be closely monitored in case he accidentally ends up channeling his inner Tom Holland.
