Snyder could probably bring his creative vision to make a film that will not hold back on the intense violent fights in the ring. It would not be wrong to assume that Superman killing General Zod may not be the most violent thing you saw from Snyder once this film comes out.

Despite the negative response to his previous few films, Zack Snyder still has a large fanbase who anticipates more visually engaging films from him. Snyder’s Rebel Moon was a disappointment for many critics, but producers keep throwing money his way as he can still attract a huge crowd for his films.

Earlier, it was announced that Turki Alalshikh, the man behind Saudi Arabia’s aggressive financial investment into boxing, wanted to make a UFC film with Snyder. During an interview with The Hollywood Handle, he was asked about this movie and whether it was in development.

Snyder shared that he was very interested in pursuing this project and believed that it would be a great opportunity for him. He shared that he was excited to work with such a great canvas and added that it would be a cool place to start. According to his interview with FandomWire, he was going small-scale for his next film.

However, Snyder did not confirm that whether the small-scale film in development and the UFC film are the same. He shared with The Hollywood Handle:

That is definitely something I’m very interested in pursuing and tracking down. Yes. And I think that that could be a great opportunity. It’d be a great canvas to work with. That could be a great, could be a really cool place to start. Yeah. So yeah, I mean, I’m very interested in that as a possibility. But I don’t know if that’s the small movie to be honest.

After the first UFC fight card in Saudi Arabia, Alalshikh and UFC CEO Dana White came on Jon Anik’s live broadcast to announce the return of the event to the country in 2025. It was during this live that Alalshikh expressed his interest in bringing his friend Zack Snyder to direct a UFC film. He wanted the film to be like The Cinderella Man. Alalshikh shared (via Essentially Sports):

I want to have a meeting with [Dana White] and the director Zack Snyder, who’s a friend. We want to talk about doing [a] big movie about the UFC. Like ‘The Cinderella Man’ [or] something like this. I would like to convince Zack Snyder — he liked the idea — and convince also Dana.

White appears to be on board for such a project. Alalshikh earlier shared with The MMA Hour that he wanted to bring a different way of thinking about boxing. He shared that the event was still handled by people, who have been doing business like it’s the ’60s or ’70s.

He shared that he was trying to lock in a few original ideas for the new film. Snyder shared with FandomWire:

But I would love to do a kind of a small movie right now. I’m in the mood to do something small and shot on location. Something a little bit more manageable…After doing this giant…you know, shooting a movie where nothing exists and where you have to make it all up…It’d be fun to find a cool location and film something that is there.

He also shared during his interview with The Hollywood Handle that he was pursuing the 300 TV series. Snyder will be collaborating with Warner Bros. once again after his alleged falling out with the studio after the Justice League debacle.
