SUMMARY

  • Recently, Helldivers 2's play base discovered a trick that lets them see the contents of bunkers and vaults, making it easier to decide which one they should open.
  • Considering how many players often suffer from having their requests to open the bunker rejected by others, this can be a great way to inform your teammates and save time.
  • However, given its nature as a glitch, there's little doubt within the community's mind that Arrowhead will quickly put out a patch to remove it from the game.

Although Helldivers 2 has now settled into the rhythm most live-service titles are all too familiar with, there’s no denying that the game’s core loop is as addictive as ever.

Right now, Helldivers 2’s community seems to have a complicated relationship with the game. While in better shape than ever before, people are losing interest one way or another – if it isn’t the community’s toxicity, then it’s simply the feeling of being burned out on the title.

Fortunately, and at the very least, there is now a way to alleviate one of the former issues in-game by letting your fellow Helldivers know the exact rewards they’ll receive by opening a bunker and actually having them help you once.

As the OP’s upload showcases, going prone next to a bunker and entering the first-person aiming mode essentially lets you see its contents. Others in the thread also pointed out that by spam-tagging specific items with this method, you can potentially avoid a lot of the time spent begging your teammates to help you out.

Considering that this trick is finally on the game’s subreddit, there’s no doubt that Arrowhead will take notice and release a Helldivers 2 patch to fix it. It’s quite a shame, but some may argue that it is for the better that such game-breaking glitches be removed.

So, ultimately, the trick is perhaps nothing but a short reprieve, further highlighting that Helldivers 2 still requires some permanent solutions for its problems.

Already, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Helldivers 2’s future is a fog-shrouded mystery. Although the game stands as one of the shining examples of what a live service title should be like, it also suffers from the model’s various problems.

For once, it is necessary for Arrowhead Game Studios to come up with something that truly refreshes the core gameplay loop. Whether that “something” is a new game mode or a complete overhaul, there’s no denying that the game would benefit heavily from such a change and keep its players engaged for a little longer.

While releasing one battle pass after another, along with smaller content updates and major orders, is fine for now, Arrowhead may need to develop a concrete strategy to ensure that it truly lives up to its potential.
