Not only the music industry, but the rapper was a part of several movies as well. One such movie was Gang Related, in which he shared the screen with Dennis Quaid. In a recent interview, Quaid recalled working with Shakur on the movie and how his untimely death affected him.

In the PBD podcast, the actor added that during the filming he was somewhat familiar with Shakur’s work in the industry. But they connected on a different level when he discovered that they both shared a mutual love for Chinese food. So much so, that they used to eat Chinese food five days in a row, which became a topic of joke between them.

Quaid recalled not just food, but they also talked extensively about acting, their childhoods, their mothers, and several other topics as well. In the same interview, the actor mentioned that Shakur had told him about another near-fatal incident that he survived in New York.

But tragically just six months after their conversation, the rapper was gunned down in Las Vegas. Quaid added, “That one really hit me hard” when he heard about his passing. Tupac Shakur passed away in 1996, and the movie Gang Related was released in 1997.

The deep friendship between Pinkett Smith and Shakur started during their teenage years in Baltimore, Maryland. In the same interview, the actress also addressed speculation regarding any romantic relationship between them. She clarified that such a connection wasn’t possible due to the lack of chemistry between the duo.

To this, the host suggested that the said chemistry was quite evident to others. Jada Pinkett Smith added that it was a bond deeply rooted in friendship. She elaborated, “It’s that friendship-love chemistry. It was almost like God made us that way.” Further, that a romantic relationship was just not in their destiny.
