It is known that Baldur’s Gate 3 has immersive storytelling that allows players to take their own path by making decisions that carry great weight. The game also has a plethora of challenging and engaging battles that test their strategic prowess and adaptability.
However, among all the encounters, one fight has left many players frustrated: the Addled Frog fight. Despite the frail appearance of the frog, it proves to be a difficult opponent, so players always try to avoid fighting it.
Players Don’t Want to Fight Addled Frog in Baldur’s Gate 3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, choices play an important role as they not only decide the fate of the players in the story but also the fate of other characters as well. One of the best things about this freedom is that players can almost avoid every conflict by paying careful attention to every decision they make.
However, there are certain unexpected encounters that players want to avoid not because it is against morale but because it is super difficult to fend off. That one encounter is with Addled Frog, which at first seems like an easy fight but it is one of the most frustrating and won’t drop anything in exchange.
Recently, Reddit User, MysteriousFondant347 asked the community which enemy they don’t want to fight in Baldur’s Gate 3 and reminded them about the Addled Frog fight. This started a huge discussion about the fight and how many players are taking extra precautions to never encounter various enemies in the game.

While the players like the challenge of any fight, the rewards also need to be something good. Otherwise, there is no incentive for players to fight the enemy. Players don’t want developers to remove it but want other players to avoid it as much as possible.
Larian Studios Highlighting the Power of Choice

Larian Studios has been clear that it wants to showcase all the possibilities of the choices. If players make the wrong decisions in their playthrough, it will lead to bad encounters and skip some of the stories because the characters are dead or don’t like them.
The game also offers various boss fights and unexpected enemies if conditions aren’t met. Players can even find themselves against characters who were allies in the previous act.
This way studio wants players to think about every choice and create an experience completely unique to them, making the replayability of the game even more enjoyable.
In the end, players still enjoy the game due to its narrative and fight but there are still fights they want to avoid at all cost.
