It’s Channing Tatum’s time to shine!
Deadpool & Wolverine finally arrived in theatres after a long wait but a majority of fans would say that the wait was absolutely worth it. While some would say that the film is nothing but a cameo fest, others would argue that it’s one of the best installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only did we get to see some of our favorite characters return, but we also saw a bunch of fresh faces in the film, including Channing Tatum’s Gambit.

Channing Tatum had been trying to play Gambit since time immemorial, but unfortunately, things just weren’t going his way. That is until he finally got to make his dream come true in Deadpool & Wolverine. Gambit was one of the cameos that got the loudest screams in the theatre and thanks to a tiny detail you might have missed in the film, it looks like there is hope for him to return to the MCU.

When Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool and Wolverine travel deep within The Void and into the base of the resistance fighters, they come across Elektra, X-23, and Blade. Along with them is Channing Tatum’s Gambit. The team, including Gambit, forms an alliance with Wade and Logan to defeat Cassandra Nova.
The Deadpool & Wolverine cameo manages to make the audience laugh until their stomachs hurt and he had a few fighting scenes that looked super cool, as well.
But the question is, after everything that happened, will Tatum return to play Gambit again? Well, thanks to a little detail in the film’s post-credit scene, it looks like he just might.
Deadpool is standing in the middle of a room at the TVA, the same room he was in with Mr. Paradox. Since it’s the TVA, we can see a bunch of monitors behind him showing different timelines. If you focus on the left of the screen, you’ll see Tatum’s Gambit on the tiniest monitor just walking around and turning towards the camera to give a good glimpse of his face to the audience.
Of course, if you were immersed in what Deadpool had to say, you might have missed out on the subtle details in the scene. But hey, that’s what makes Marvel, Marvel.
Fans Would Love to See Channing Tatum Return

I'm thinking since he was a fan favorite in Deadpool and Wolverine and Ryan and Shaun knows it. I have a feeling he might return. pic.twitter.com/OVsP0dRuCL

This blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene not only gives Gambit fans hope but also perhaps gives hope to Tatum, who has been trying to bring the character to life for a long time.
Filmmakers had been wanting to launch Gambit into the X-Men franchise right from 2003’s X2: X-Men United and even in 2007’s X-Men: The Last Stand. However, obstacle after obstacle caused the character to be sidelined each time.
Tatum was supposed to play Gambit in The Last Stand but the character was cut from the film. The character eventually showed up in X-Men Origins: Wolverine but it was played by actor Taylor Kitsch.
Tatum was always quite enthusiastic about playing the character and was even roped in for his very own solo film. Unfortunately, even that was shelved eventually.
The actor finally got to make his dream come true in Deadpool & Wolverine in the best way possible and the post-credit scene might be an indication that the story of his Gambit is not over yet.
Deadpool & Wolverine is currently playing in theatres.
