Zack Snyder and ‘his’ Superman

Director Zack Snyder had placed high hopes on his 2013 movie, Man of Steel, and wanted to portray the Superman arc through a proper trilogy. However, things didn’t go as planned. The later movies featuring the iconic superhero didn’t really showcase Henry Cavill as the sole lead anymore. The constant fluctuating state of the actor’s presence in the later movies led to confusion among the fans. A sequel for the 2013 movie was promised which never led to fruition, further discouraging the audience.

Just like most of the fans, Snyder too believed that Cavill’s talents were greatly wasted in the following movies, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). The director had a lot in store for the character, having planned a full-circle ending for the legendary hero. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out and the role went to someone else.
