Spoiler Alert !!!
This article contains spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine brought back a host of Marvel Legacy characters that have been absent from the screen since way before the MCU. Be it Jennifer Garner’s Elektra from 2003’s Daredevil, Wesley Snipes from the Blade trilogy, or Chris Evans’ Human Torch from Fantastic Four (2005), these characters had been mostly absent from the public zeitgeist since the dawn of the MCU in 2008. Not only that, but these characters were already kinda old when Robert Downey Jr. began his work as Iron Man in the MCU.

Apart from these legacy characters, Deadpool & Wolverine also brought in a particular character from an unproduced Marvel movie, fulfilling a long-awaited pipe dream for Channing Tatum: letting him essay the role of Gambit. However, it seems the film could have done more for the character, as eagle-eyed fans have spotted in the film.

Deadpool & Wolverine has managed to insert a lot of old versions of pretty popular characters into the MCU again. However, the film has also managed to reignite the hopes for a Gambit film, one that stars Channing Tatum in the lead role.

While it is unlikely that any of the characters in these films will be receiving any solo outings of their own, there is a possibility that Gambit might finally have his film produced after all. Given that the characters that were in Deadpool & Wolverine had had at least one film focusing on them, Gambit could receive similar treatment or even something like a special presentation.

Every Marvel fan remembers the slew of rumors that had hyped up Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Everyone from Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider to Ioan Gruffudd’s Mister Fantastic was poised to be a part of the film.

While the film did include Sir Patrick Stewart‘s Professor Charles Xavier, there were no other Marvel Legacy characters that made it into the film. However, with films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Deadpool & Wolverine, and The Marvels, a slew of Legacy characters were able to make their way into the MCU. However, there are plenty more that fans want to see appear in the films.

To begin with, a popular character that fans want to see return is Eric Bana‘s interpretation of the Hulk. Fans are also keen on seeing the rest of Tim Story’s cast of the Fantastic Four appear in the MCU, specifically Jessica Alba as Sue Storm. However, the most popular character that fans want to see return to the MCU comes from one of the worst-performing Marvel films: Nicholas Cage‘s Ghost Rider. There is also a potent call to see Ben Affleck‘s Daredevil.

Deadpool & Wolverine is currently in theatres.
