Although the title has managed to capture the attention of gamers, it has faced many issues with bugs, balancing, and features that have created a negative bubble around the title. However, now players’ criticism has extended to its microtransaction system, which fans believe is outright scamming players with horrendous bundle deals.

The First Descendant Bundles Are Awful, as Fans Avoid Them

As a modern free-to-play game, it’s no surprise that The First Descendant brings microtransactions as a way to boost the game’s ongoing development in the long term. It’s a strategy that almost everyone in the industry is using at this point, and publishers need to make money if they’re making the game free.

However, The First Descendant MTX is drawing quite a lot of flak from the community just because of how many ways Nexon is trying to squeeze money from its players. What’s worse is the fact that it’s supplementing this with awful bundles that don’t bring any value to purchasers.

This is such a noob-trap waste of money, it borders on unethical.

The Premium Enhancement package costs 1000 Calibers, which is an absolutely wild price point considering the fact that the items you get barely last 10 seconds. The introduction of the bundle has led to dissatisfaction among gamers, as many took to Reddit to voice their frustrations.

Fans believe that Nexon is preying upon newer players to purchase such deals, as players with even a shred of experience playing The First Descendant won’t touch this deal.

If Nexon truly wants to establish The First Descendant as the face of the genre, the developer must avoid baiting players with such outrageous microtransactions. Players would appreciate it and even spend more if Nexon brought bundles that were worth buying. There are tons of other ways to monetize the game for Nexon.

Is The First Descendant Completely Pay-To-Win?

The First Descendant is loaded with several hundreds of dollars of microtransactions. Normally, such a thing would be fine if the microtransactions were limited to cosmetic items. However, in Nexon’s title, players can get powerful and progression shortcuts with microtransactions.

Being able to purchase progression shortcuts and powerful gear perfectly fits the description of being a pay-to-win game. However, there are many factors to consider.

All upcoming seasonal content and updates for the title will be free to all players. This is exciting news for The First Descendant fans, as paywalled content can be the biggest barrier for players in games such as Destiny 2.

Nexon is also planning to introduce a trading system in the game, although the limitations and restrictions of this system are still a mystery. Considering players don’t have a way to earn premium money in The First Descendant, Caliber, without purchasing it, a player-to-player system could change it.

Lastly, since The First Descendant doesn’t have dedicated PvP modes, players who even gain an advantage over others by getting premium currency won’t have any particular advantage.
