The movie is adapted from a 2004 Jon Ronson novel and was brought to life by Clooney and Heslov’s production company, Smokehouse Pictures. Recently, a resurfaced video (via Instagram) of the movie has been making the rounds on the internet. Further capturing the attention of the viewers for a rather unexpected reason.
In the snippet, Evan McGregor delivers a line that marks a startling contrast to his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars. In the scene, Clooney talks about Jedis; to this, McGregor replies “You’re a Jedi warrior? I don’t know what that means.” This line alone was enough to leave fans gasping, completely taken aback by the unexpected twist.
The movie follows the premise of a secret military unit within the U.S. Army called the New Earth Army. It explores unconventional and paranormal methods of warfare. The storyline centers around a journalist named Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor), who, while investigating a story, stumbles across this unusual unit and its bizarre techniques.
As he tries to dive deeper into the secrets, he comes across a former member of the unit called Lyn Cassady (George Clooney). He claims to have developed psychic abilities as a part of his training.

Ewan McGregor remains hopeful for possibly reprising his iconic role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. He further expressed enthusiasm for potential future appearances in the Star Wars universe. In an interview (via Deadline), the actor revealed his eagerness to reprise his character after having a blast filming the first season of the Disney Plus miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022).

The actor also reflected on the past secrecy of concealing his involvement in the show. He added that he just wanted to maintain the intrigue surrounding the show. But has no clue about whether the show will return for a second season or not. He added:
The truth is I’ve talked about having to cover for doing the Obi-Wan season for years, I had to lie about that, and I’m not lying about this now.
However, despite this, the actor expressed his satisfaction with the miniseries and stated that he hopes to get a chance to do another one. Further, he added “I’ve got a few years yet before I’m the same age as Alec Guinness was in A New Hope. So, there’s time to tell more stories in there.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a six-episode series and focuses on the Jedi master’s adventurous journey from seclusion to confronting his past. He then rescues a young Princess Leia from the Galactic Empire’s enforcers. However, in the midst of this, he also comes across his former apprentice, Darth Vader.
