The dynamic duo of Goku and Vegeta has become the highlight of Dragon Ball for the past few years. Ever since the series transitioned into Dragon Ball Super, both Goku and Vegeta have acted as a pair rather than being rivals in terms of gaining power and strength. This narrative of making them a duo has been quite loved by Dragon Ball fans.

However, they are not the only pair in the Dragon Ball franchise who have been entertaining fans with their vigorous relationship. Akira Toriyama once revealed that he always liked to introduce characters in pairs as it allowed him to reduce the narration in the manga. This helped him create duos like Goten and Trunks, Gohan and Piccolo, Android 17 and 18, etc.

All these pairs have something unique to their names, but they can’t be compared to Goku and Vegeta. The only duo that could probably beat Goku and Vegeta’s relationship in being the most entertaining pair of the Dragon Ball series is none other than the God of Destruction of Universe 7, Beerus, and his attendant guide angel, Whis.

Beerus and Whis’ Amusing Relationship

Ever since Beerus and Whis were introduced in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, they have become an important factor in almost every Dragon Ball narrative. The God of Destruction and the Guide Angel duo have established their place, and although they may stay neutral in most of the battles, their own relationship is somewhat entertaining for fans.

Although it may look like the two are together just because of their duties, they share a bond that might be the most underrated one. Whis has always guided Beerus to make the right choice whenever he felt like he might be straying from his path. He has also made sure that Beerus does not go into a rage that could destroy the entire universe at once.

As his attendant Whis makes sure that Beerus maintains his status as a god, Beerus makes sure that he always listens to the advice of his guide angel. Not only that, the two share a mutual interest in food and snacks, especially from Earth, which makes them quite similar despite having opposite personalities.

Beerus and Whis Can Give Goku and Vegeta A Run For Their Money

Although Vegeta and Goku are the protagonist duo of Dragon Ball Super, both of them prefer to work and fight alone. They might have the same goal of getting stronger, but the ways that they try to achieve this goal are different. This is why there is not much coordination between the two except for when they are about to fuse.

However, Akira Toriyama’s method of introducing characters in pairs peaked when he came up with the idea of Beerus and Whis.

They literally are the strongest pair in the entire universe, which already beats Goku and Vegeta’s individual ambitions. Plus, being together for so long has helped them develop a mutual understanding of each other.

Their love for food, passing snarky comments during battles, and enjoying the occasional travel across planets is their method of having a good time together, and that’s what makes them a better duo than Vegeta and Goku in Dragon Ball.
